Reviews: Ty Bow Wow Beanie & PetShoppe Toys

My mommy brought home 2 toys today (she’s a sucker for cute stuff). Of course, she got one for Nala and one for me, and most of the time they’re similar toys. But sometimes they’re not…

Mommy went to the store for one thing, and as always, she was drawn to the doggie toy section. She found a couple of toys for Nala and me — one squeaked, and the other one had a box inside that chirped when squeezed.

Ty Bow Wow Beanies^TM Quackers, & PetShoppe’s^TM Chirping Bird

The toy on the left is Ty’s Bow Wow Beanie^TM duckie.
The toy on the right is my strange-looking, yet colorful, chirping bird.

Nala really liked her duckie.

I liked carrying around my birdie by its wing.

I tried to enjoy playing with it — I really did.

The toy from PetShoppe^TM was interesting. When mommy gave it to me, I tried to make it sqeak, but all it did was chirp. The neck had some sort of elastic inside, so that when I pulled the neck and let go, it sprung back. The chirping sound was nice, but the sound of Nala’s squeaky duckie kept grabbing my attention.

But Nala reallyyy liked her duckie!

As it turns out, I broke the chirping box inside my duckie in a matter of minutes. After the birdie refused to make any sounds, I found myself moving toward one that did. And wouldn’t you know which one happened to be close by…

Don’t tell Nala you saw me. K?

The Good Stuff:

• Nala’s Ty Bow Wow Beanie^TM duckie is very soft and easy to hold.
• My PetShoppe^TM chirping birdie is also very soft and easy to hold.
• I love the squeaker and the crinkly sound in the Ty duckie. For some reason, I didn’t enjoy the chirping in the PetShoppe^TM birdie.
• The Ty Bow Wow Beanie^TM duckie is very sturdy and has a lasting factor. See this Ty Bow Wow Beanie^TM that I reviewed back in April, 2011. It’s still around!
• Both toys were similar in price.

The Not-So-Good Stuff:

• The PetShoppe^TM birdie needs to be squeezed in just the right place for it to chirp (the body). The box did not stand up to my clenching — I broke the inside box right in half. The birdie has been silenced forever in just a matter of minutes.
• There are no squeakers in the PetShoppe^TM birdie. There could’ve and should’ve been, ’cause the chirping box wasn’t gonna last forever.

My conclusion?

If mommy had to choose again, I would tell her to get another Ty Bow Wow Beanie^TM. You can’t go wrong with squeakers and crinkles!

I’m making great use of my new toy from Five Sibes! Teehee!
