This past Tuesday, a Certified Flooring Inspector man came to our house to check out the grout problem. Nala and I had to stay in the bedroom until he left. I was the quiet one — Nala barked up a storm!

\nWhile Nala & I were in the bedroom, we heard the man talking to
\nmommy. He told her all the possible reasons why the grout wasn’t
\ncuring properly. He told her that he had a few tests to do…
\nFirst, he checked to see if the floor was level.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Certified
\nThen he took out his moisture detector, and went all over the
\nentire floor checking for excess moisture. He said there was none.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Certified
\nHe also took out some round thing called a ’tile puck.’ It had a
\ntiny level in the center, which showed whether the floor was straight.
\nHe kicked it across the floor to see if any parts of the tile were uneven.<\/em><\/p>\n

\nHe also put the puck on its side, and set it on the floor
\nto see where the slope of the room was. It rolled a little and
\nthen it stopped. It turns out that our floor isn’t too sloped. <\/em><\/p>\n

\nAs soon as the man left, mommy let Nala and me out of the
\nbedroom. I caught a glimpse of him as he was getting into his car.<\/em><\/p>\n

\nNala & I watched the man as he drove away, and
\nwondered what would come next with the floor. <\/em>
\n<\/center><\/p>\n

I overheard the man tell mommy that he thinks the reason we’re getting holes in the grout, is because underneath the tile, including the grout, hasn’t completely cured yet. He said that takes at least 2 months. Mommy was very frustrated, because it was a whole 8 months with the first complete grouting, and the grout was still <\/em>developing holes! <\/p>\n

The man said that mommy should receive his report from the store today. The man said that it takes about 2 months for grout to completely ‘cure.’ He also said he would recommend to the store, that he come back in October\/November, to see if any other holes develop in the grout over the next 6 months. We’ll let you know how that goes…<\/p>\n
