I was excited to go, even before I learned that my human sister would be joining us! She didn&#8217;t come last week, but I guess she wanted to see what this doggie school thing was all about.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n<img src=\"http:\/\/www.baileybegood.com\/img\/blog\/Feb2011\/DoggieSchool_2_1.jpg\" align=\"left\" alt=\"Doggie School: Week #2\" \/>The ride in the car was OK. This was the second time that I didn&#8217;t get sick (yay!). I couldn&#8217;t wait to get inside, and it&#8217;s not because I missed all the other doggies &#8212; it&#8217;s because I couldn&#8217;t wait to eat turkey and cheese! I had some during the day yesterday, and it was delicious! <\/p>\n<p>I could just taste those yummy treats!<P>&nbsp;<\/P><\/p>\n<p>Yesterday we worked on a few things:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Getting my attention &#038; recognizing my name (uh, I already know my name&#8230; and give me treats and you&#8217;ve got my attention!)<\/li>\n<li>Sit (I can do this with my eyes closed.)<\/li>\n<li>Down (I can do this too. Mommy said she taught me after watching a video that our teacher did. Good thing it worked, huh?)<\/li>\n<li>Stay (OK, I still have a little trouble with this one, but I did really well in class yesterday.)<\/li>\n<li>Release cues (Mommy is using the word, &#8220;OK.&#8221;)<\/li>\n<li>Watch me (I love to watch mommy and daddy&#8230; and whoever else has treats to give me!)<\/li>\n<li>Loose leash walking (This is especially for doggies that pull their humans. They don&#8217;t like to be dragged! I&#8217;m kinda mellow, so I don&#8217;t really pull much.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><center><img src=\"http:\/\/www.baileybegood.com\/img\/blog\/Feb2011\/DoggieSchool_2_2.jpg\" alt=\"Doggie School: Week #2\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Sooo&#8230; working on sit and stay. I sat. And stayed. And then got rewarded with treats. Then sat some more. And stayed. Then got more treats. Sat yet some more. Stayed&#8230; and more treats. Well you get the idea. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/www.baileybegood.com\/img\/blog\/Feb2011\/DoggieSchool_2_3.jpg\" align=\"right\" alt=\"Doggie School: Week #2\" \/>Remember Harry, the little black &#038; white Papillon I told you about last week? I asked my human sister to snap a picture of him so you could see what he looked like. She thought he was just the cutest thing, especially when he jumped up and down and begged. My mommy took a video of him &#8212; I&#8217;ll have to try and get her to add it. Yeah, he <em>is<\/em> kinda cute.<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/www.baileybegood.com\/img\/blog\/Feb2011\/DoggieSchool_2_4.jpg\" align=\"left\" alt=\"Doggie School: Week #2\" \/>Daddy worked with me the most yesterday &#8212; I think it&#8217;s because mommy thinks daddy needs training too. Haha&#8230; don&#8217;t tell daddy I said that. <\/p>\n<p>Daddy did pretty well yesterday though. <img src=\"http:\/\/www.baileybegood.com\/img\/blog\/Feb2011\/DoggieSchool_2_5.jpg\" align=\"right\" alt=\"Doggie School: Week #2\" \/>He walked with me across the room, clicked at me, gave me treats, and waited for me to look at him again. <\/p>\n<p>We practiced loose leash walking, then we stopped and daddy waited for me to look at him. When I did, he clicked and gave me a treat. He even trusted me to let go of my leash and tell me to stay. Well of course I stayed, and I got my treats! I think we work really well together. <\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/www.baileybegood.com\/img\/blog\/Feb2011\/DoggieSchool_2_6.jpg\" align=\"left\" alt=\"Doggie School: Week #2\" \/>The teacher let everyone practice their training at their own pace, and she walked around and gave help to those who were having trouble. <\/p>\n<p>Toward the end of the class, the teacher asked for a doggie volunteer, and she picked me! <img src=\"http:\/\/www.baileybegood.com\/img\/blog\/Feb2011\/DoggieSchool_2_7.jpg\" align=\"right\" alt=\"Doggie School: Week #2\" \/>She wanted to show everyone how to do &#8220;leave it,&#8221; that she taught last week, but with using the words, &#8220;leave it.&#8221; She was even able to leave my leash on the ground while she trained with me. I think she was a little surprised at how good I was. I caught on really fast, and the teacher told the class that some doggies may take a longer time to learn it. That made me feel really good. <\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/www.baileybegood.com\/img\/blog\/Feb2011\/DoggieSchool_2_8.jpg\" align=\"left\" alt=\"Doggie School: Week #2\" \/>The car ride home was great! Mommy sat in the middle seats and let me lay in the back. There were lots of blankets there from when Nala rides in the car. She sits buckled into a seat covered with a big blanket (she fits better in one than I do). Mommy spread out the blankets over the back and I had room enough to lay down. It was definitely more comfortable than trying to fit my whole self in a seat! I was so comfy, that I lay down for the car ride home. Why does school make me so tired?<\/p>\n<p>Next week will be my 3rd class. I think she&#8217;s going to teach mommy and daddy how to get me not to jump on everyone.
