I am a very lucky doggie to have such wonderful friends and family. I especially want to thank a few bloggie friends who have not forgotten me in all my absences, and have become some of Jax’s Angels: Frankie and Ernie Price<\/a>, DaWeenies of Florida<\/a>, and Brian’s Home<\/a>. My family is just so amazed at your caring and kindness and we thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts. We so appreciate you. <3\n\nFrom my hu-mommy…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our little boy is having his surgery tomorrow. We’re going to drop him off at the surgery center at 8am, where he’ll undergo a Double Pelvic Osteotomy (DPO) on both hips. He will stay overnight, and if everything goes well, we’ll be able to bring him home on Tuesday. <\/p>\n

I just learned that Jax would need sling support for just after his surgery, so I began looking online for the best one. I really liked the look of the Ginger Lead, but at $50 plus $25 for 2-day shipping, it was just too expensive. So I thought about making my own.<\/p>\n

I took an old soft canvas bag with handles, and folded it to make it approximately 3-3 1\/2″ wide. I used safety pins to hold down the folds, then sewed the folds down by hand. It would’ve gone a lot faster if I had a sewing machine & knew how to sew. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

It took just a few hours, but I think it came out really good. It’s sturdy yet soft, and most of all it didn’t cost me a penny. All I need to do is add a bit of velcro in the middle, so Jax won’t be able to get out of it. Overall, I think it’s a job well done!<\/p>\n

Fundraiser update…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thanks to such amazing friends and family, Jax’s fundraiser has raised more than half of the funds needed for the bills surrounding his condition. My hu-family is so grateful to all the Angels that are supporting him — thank you so very much!<\/p>\n

Please don’t stop sharing his link<\/a> — we will still have a large amount to pay off once his surgery is over. We appreciate it and thank you all so much! <\/p>\n

Jax Facts…<\/strong><\/p>\n

~ At 2 months old, Jax was 10.7 lbs. The rescue organization gave him the name “Mojo,” which happens to rhyme with our hamster’s name, “JoJo<\/a>! He won’t get nearly as big as me (currently 66.4 lbs!), but he might get to be about 45-50 lbs (Nala was at least 30 lbs when she was her biggest). NOPE! We don’t think Jax will even reach 30 lbs. We have bets going to see how big he’ll get. O_o<\/em>
\n~ Jax was born November 19, the DAY AFTER Nala (November 18). Jax also happens to look a little like me.
\n~ At 2 & 1\/2 months, he was 12.8 lbs.
\n~ At 3 months, 1 week old, Jax was 16.2 lbs. The doctor thinks he’ll definitely be under 40 lbs. YEP! When I was 3 months old, I was already 30 lbs!<\/em>
\n~ Jax is finally learning how to ring the potty bell<\/a> to let us know he has to go out. At just 13 weeks, it was still hard for him to hold it for long, but he tried!
\n~ Jax barks when asked to TALK! He doesn’t have a strong bark yet (and doesn’t really bark much at all), but when he does it’s really cute and high-pitched and lots of times he sounds like Chewbacca from Star Wars. We should have named him Chewie<\/em>.
\n~ Jax is scared of loud noises (passing trucks, motorcycles, trains, thunder, mowers, people talking in the distance, etc). He bolts toward the house, even if he has to go potty. Unlike me, he tends to hold it in when he’s scared. I don’t have that problem! Teehee!
\n~ Mommy washed Nala’s Thundershirt<\/a>, and it shrunk just enough that it fits Jax PERFECTLY. It never worked for Nala, but we think it does help Jax a little. Anything to make him less afraid is OKAY with me. \ud83d\ude42
\n~ He would rather curl up with me in one of my big beds, rather than sleep alone in his little bed. Though he does like that too. \ud83d\ude42
\n~ He really does look fierce sometimes.
\n~ At 6 months old, Jax is 25.8 lbs. He still prefers to lay near<\/strike> on me, and sometimes I let him.
\n~ At 11pm it’s ‘sleepy time,’ and Jax knows it’s no more play time. He’s really good about sleeping through the night. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

I heard from many of you that my feed has not been showing up in your readers for quite some time. I am so sorry! Feedburner said my RSS Feed<\/a> got too big, and it stopped sending it out. :\/ So I deleted it and it’s now located here<\/a>. The problem I have, is that everyone who had previously subscribed, is no longer subscribed. \ud83d\ude41 I have your emails, and plan on sending out one general message asking everyone to change the URL of the feed so you could continue receiving it in your reader (nope, haven’t done this yet).
