I was playing around in the yard this morning…

\"What's
\nI was in one corner, smelling the grass… pretty much
\nminding my own business. Honest.
\nAll of a sudden, I heard this: Pffft! Pffft! Pffft!<\/center><\/p>\n

\"What's
\nI turned around. It wasn’t mommy — I could see <\/em>her. What was that sound<\/em>?<\/center><\/p>\n

\"What's
\nI ran to the other side of the yard. There it was again<\/em>!
\nPffft! Pffft! Pffft!<\/center><\/p>\n

\"What's
\nI looked around for Nala. She was walking around nearby.
\nI called her over to have a listen.<\/center><\/p>\n

\"What's
\nDo you hear that<\/em>, Nala? What’s that sound<\/em>?
\n“Ahhh,” she said. “I know that sound.”<\/center><\/p>\n

\"What's
\nIt was a squirrel! <\/strong>
\n“Bailey, you’d better get used to that sound,” Nala said.<\/center><\/p>\n

\"What's
\nI watched as the squirrel jumped from the tall pole to the wire.<\/center><\/p>\n

\"What's
\nIt was way too high up to reach.
\nHe just sat up there looking down at us.<\/center><\/p>\n

\"What's
\nThen he got comfortable, and started to eat something.
\nIt didn’t look like a pine cone!<\/center><\/p>\n

\"What's
\nThere he was, watching us watch him.<\/center><\/p>\n

\"What's
\nI stood there mesmerized. Nala told me I should
\nexpect this to happen a lot! Tricky squirrels.
\nOne day we’ll meet again.<\/center><\/p>\n

Nala also reminded me about Norman <\/a>. He’s another squirrel that usually visits our yard. <\/p>\n

I think I’m falling down on the job. I need to pay more attention! How could I not have recognized that sound?!<\/p>\n

This squirrel may have thought he won this <\/em>round, but there’s always <\/em>a next time. And next <\/em>time, I’ll be waiting… \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
