I love my yard. I love running in it, playing in it, and discovering in it. Today, I made a new discovery.

\nThe birds were out, and I even saw a woodpecker perch right up on my fence. When it first landed on the fence, the fence shook and it made a sound that got my attention. I quickly turned around, and saw that woodpecker. But I wasn’t fast enough to reach him. By the time I started to move toward him, he had flown away. Mommy wasn’t even fast enough with her camera. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

\nThis is my <\/strong>yard.<\/em><\/center><\/p>\n

But while moving toward that woodpecker, I noticed something further down along the fence. A hole. There was a hole… in my <\/em>fence. I’d never really noticed it before, mostly because it’s covered by shadows. And it’s not really a hole<\/em> — it’s an opening where one of the planks of wood has started to curve up on one side. No matter what, it’s still a hole to me. And it’s in my <\/strong>fence.<\/p>\n

I decided to get a closer look. <\/p>\n

\nYep, it’s a hole alright. I wonder if there’s a way to fix this?<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Hole
\nHEY!! What the? Who’s in..?!<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Hole
\nThere’s a monster in there! I’m under attack!<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Hole
\nI’m moving in for a closer look. “I can hear you breathing in there!
\nIt’s growling at me!”<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Hole
\nI got a little glimpse of the creature.
\nCould it be a red panda… in my neighbor’s yard?!<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Hole
\nThen it stuck it’s head out a little. Awww, it wasn’t a red panda…<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Hole
\nIt’s only my neighbor’s Pomeranian doggie!<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Hole
\nShe kept barking at me!<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Hole
\nI guess things aren’t what they seem to be, sometimes.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Hole
\nThen I had a surprise! Another doggie stuck his nose out of the hole.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Hole
\nHe’s a Bichon Frise, and he and his sister worked up some good barkin’ at me.<\/em><\/center><\/p>\n

I learned a good lesson: never be afraid to stick your nose inside a hole… you never know what you might find!<\/p>\n

Here’s a little video of me discovering what’s beyond the hole in the fence. Was I scared? No way. I was just a little surprised. \ud83d\ude09<\/strong><\/p>\n
