I haven’t had that many opportunities to have other people in my house besides family, but occasionally I do get some. Most of the time it’s my neighbor from across the street, and sometimes it’s Taylor’s friends. I don’t mind if they come over, ’cause I know them pretty well. Then there’s family that comes to the house every few months…

\nLast week I had some people come in my house — in the early afternoon, our neighbor across the street visited us. I knew him since I was a little puppy, and I’ve even been inside his house a few times. I usually see him a few times a week, so I know him pretty well. He and his wifey are really nice people, but sometimes I end up barking at them when I first see them. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

\nNala also likes our neighbor. He’s really nice to both of us.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"C
\nNala likes to sniff — I like to sniff.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"C
\nI thought my neighbor was the only visitor
\nwe would have on this day… but I was wrong!<\/em><\/center><\/p>\n

Later on, more people showed up at our door! There was my family’s aunt, uncle and two cousins. I’ve seen them before<\/a>, but I wasn’t that well-behaved then. I watched every single move they made, and I barked the entire time they were in our house. <\/p>\n

\nThis time, when they came inside our house and I started
\nbarking at them, mommy immediately put me behind the hallway gate. <\/em><\/center><\/p>\n

She told me that if I wanted to come out, I would have to be QUIET. OOH, that dreaded word. She repeated that sentence to me over a couple of times until it looked like I understood. “If you want to come out, you have to be quiet<\/em>.”<\/p>\n

After thinking about it for a few seconds, I decided to be quiet and see what happened. When I stopped barking, my mommy let me out to join everyone.<\/p>\n

\nI walked around and listened to everyone talking.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"C
\nSome people tried to pet me, but I was still a little
\nunsure. Soon enough, I started barking at everyone again.<\/em><\/p>\n

\nThat landed me back behind the hallway gate. If I wanted
\nto get out, I’d have to be quiet. QUIEEEET…<\/em><\/center><\/p>\n

Ahhhh. After a minute, I had figured this quiet <\/em>thing out. QUIET = FREEDOM. So I was quiet.<\/p>\n

\nAs soon as my mommy let me out, I went around sniffing.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"C
\nNala had no trouble warming up to everyone. I also think
\nthat she remembered them. She has<\/strong> known them longer.<\/em><\/p>\n

\nI tried to hang around Nala, since she was more experienced.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"C
\nEveryone was so nice to Nala, and she let them pet her.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"C
\nI gave it a try, and it was really nice.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"C
\nI hung out with Nala for most of the time.
\nI felt more comfortable being around her.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"C
\nBut Nala doesn’t like people getting too close
\nto her face, so sometimes she pulled away. <\/em><\/p>\n

\"C
\nI don’t mind if people get in my face,
\n’cause I usually get in people’s faces myself!<\/em><\/p>\n

\nI think this visit went really well!<\/em><\/p>\n

\"C
\nMy family was shocked at the difference
\nin my behavior since the last time they saw me.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"C
\nI actually felt comfortable enough to lie down
\nand take my eyes off of everyone for a while.<\/em><\/p>\n

\nI say the evening was a great success! It felt good to know
\nhow proud my family was of me. I can’t wait for MORE company to come!<\/em><\/center><\/p>\n
