Sorry this is late! I just realized that this scheduled post didn’t post… not sure why. \ud83d\ude41 If you’re new friends of ours, you may not know what Nala and I had to go through last year. I called it THE BIG THING, well… ’cause it was a big thing! Our family decided to get rid of our doggie couch by the window (still waiting for daddy to build us a new one!), and install some brand new floors. You can read our story here. We thought that was the end of it, but here we are 6 months later…

\nDaylight Savings Time Reminder…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Don’t forget… Tomorrow (Sunday morning), at 2am, we have to turn our clocks ahead one hour. That means one extra hour each day to play with your furry ones! WooHooo!<\/p>\n

Now for Floor Troubles AGAIN?!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nala and I went through a lot when daddy started removing all the old floor tile. It took a few months until he was done, then some strange man came into our home and installed brand new tile. Nala and I were not allowed to walk on it, so daddy made a path out of big pieces of wood, and we walked on that.<\/p>\n

After the grout was supposedly dried, mommy and daddy bought a brand new couch (which Nala and I are NOT allowed on).<\/p>\n

But this past November, mommy started to notice holes in between the tiles and missing grout! Surely that <\/em>wasn’t supposed to happen!<\/p>\n

That same strange man came and fixed a large area of our floor. He took out the old grout and put in new grout. Then Nala and I had to walk on wood again… for two weeks!<\/p>\n

\nThe installer man came back to fix the grout. When he did,
\nNala & I were stuck behind the gate again. We couldn’t believe it!<\/em><\/p>\n

\nAhhh, those sheets of wood… how I loved sitting on them.<\/em><\/p>\n

\nReally… I didn’t mind it one bit. Mommy thought I was
\nstrange, ’cause I had a nice big comfy bed just a few feet away.<\/em>
\n<\/center><\/p>\n

Well, if that <\/em>wasn’t bad enough, just two months later (this past January), mommy started noticing problems with the grout again! This time, she felt the grout with her fingernail, and she was able to brush it away like it was sand! Surely that <\/em>wasn’t supposed to happen!<\/p>\n

\nIt’s definitely not supposed to be like this.<\/em><\/p>\n

\nGrout is supposed to be hard like cement. <\/em><\/p>\n

\nThe floor is marked with blue tape around our house,
\nso the installer people will know where the problems are. <\/em><\/p>\n

\nThis installation is coming back to haunt us!<\/em>
\n<\/center><\/p>\n

So now the floor has been grouted three times. I had a feeling it wouldn’t be the last.<\/p>\n

A few weeks after this last time, mommy began noticing the same problem… the grout was just not curing correctly. So she wrote a letter to Home Depot’s Customer Service, and received a phone call from a nice lady. She said she would be handling the issue and made sure the store, the installation company, and the grout manufacturer, all got involved.<\/p>\n

Just last week, a representative from the grout manufacturing company, came to the house (see this Monday Mischief<\/a> post), and looked over the grout. Mommy said he was nice overall, but she wasn’t happy in the least when he tried to make it like it was MY fault. But mommy argued that if the grout had hardened like it was supposed to, we still wouldn’t be able to brush it away with our fingernails! He told mommy that it was probably due to excess air in the grout… possibly the installer man didn’t mix it well enough.<\/p>\n

As of the writing of this post, mommy was waiting for a call from the grout manufacturing company. Then she’ll set up a day for the installer man to come and re-grout for what we hope will be the final time. The company is probably going to put a hardener\/sealant over the grout when they come fix it for the fourth time. It’s been six months already — mommy thinks it’s time for us all to enjoy the floor without pieces of wood all over for paths, pieces of blue tape on the tiles, and holes in the grout. Nala and I think we’ve been through enough too!<\/p>\n
