Couch Cam: Part 3 BUSTED! (& Video)

Here we go again… round 3! Mommy had to go out for what seemed like an eternity, and she set up the video camera AGAIN to try and catch me going on the couch invader. I guess she wasn’t yet convinced that I wouldn’t go on it.

I’m taking part in Mayzie’s Rescue Me Week! Look below for today’s adoptable pet. 🙂

Just wanted you to know…

I’m sorry I’ve been a bit MIA with comments. My family is going through some health issues that have kept me from my computer — I didn’t realize how much I am needed when someone isn’t feeling well! I usually schedule my posts a few days in advance, so I hope I’ll be able to keep those up. I’ll be back to commenting as soon as I can!

Today is Volunteer Action Day, thanks to PetSmart… (and thanks to Brian for sharing this special day!)

Our Non-Couch: Part 2

From PetSmart Charities: “Today, November 8, in conjunction with National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week (Nov. 6-12, 2011), the People Saving Petsâ„¢ social movement is launching Volunteer Action Day! Our goal for Volunteer Action Day is simple: We want you to take the first step toward helping your local animal welfare organization by learning about available opportunities in your area and signing up for a volunteer opportunity.”

Now for Couch Cam Day 3 (11-4-11):

This time my mommy was gone for way more than just a couple of hours. It’s a good thing she only had a 2 hour video tape. I tried to be good, honest I did!

Don’t miss the video below — I can’t believe I’m posting proof of my failure (starting with photo 7)!

Our Non-Couch: Part 3
I really hate it when I’m left alone.

Our Non-Couch: Part 3
I always think I hear someone coming home.

Our Non-Couch: Part 3
I miss Nala, who’s hanging out on
the other side of the hall gate.

Our Non-Couch: Part 3
I often sit and wait for my family to return.

Our Non-Couch: Part 2
Usually, I walk all around the couch invader,
and back to this spot… and listen for my family.

Our Non-Couch: Part 3
I really missed my mommy when she left me last
Friday. She was gone for such a looooong time!
Everyone has a moment — right?

Our Non-Couch: Part 3
And there goes MY moment… up on the couch invader.

Our Non-Couch: Part 3
I couldn’t help myself! I had to sit in my mommy’s spot!

Our Non-Couch: Part 3
If it makes my mommy feel any better,
I didn’t even get to take a nap on there.

Our Non-Couch: Part 3
I was too busy watching to see if anyone was watching me!

Our Non-Couch: Part 3
I wondered if Nala could see me. She’d rat me out in a second!

Our Non-Couch: Part 3
That’s when I decided to get off.

Our Non-Couch: Part 3
I hoped that mommy forgot to rewind the tape all the way.

Our Non-Couch: Part 3
Sadly, she did rewind it… but she was only able to view
2 hours worth. Heh. As long as she doesn’t buy longer tapes.

Our Non-Couch: Part 3
She wasn’t able to see me being good for the next few hours.

Our Non-Couch: Part 3
I wanted to go back on there so badly, but
I had to wait for at least 2 hours. Hehe.

Our Non-Couch: Part 3
I couldn’t believe how long everyone was gone for!

Our Non-Couch: Part 3
I wished I hadn’t flipped over my stool –it would
have been so much easier for me to see outside the window.

Our Non-Couch: Part 3
I thought about going on the couch invader again.

Our Non-Couch: Part 3
But I thought someone would catch me.

Our Non-Couch: Part 3
Good things come to those who wait.

Our Non-Couch: Part 3
Did ya know… that 2 hours is a long time? 😉

Me on the Couch Invader! Video (don’t watch if you can’t handle my being bad!)

I was only on the couch invader for about 2 minutes, and then I sat on the floor for the rest of the 2 hour video tape. And of course I was on my very best behavior for the more than 3 hours that mommy was gone. Honest. muahaha

Now for Mayzie’s Rescue Me Week Adoptable Pet…

Rescue Me Week

From Mayzie’s Blog:

During the week of November 7-11, we hope all of you will help us honor Grampa J by putting a pet who needs a home up on your bloggie. It can be any kind of pet who’s looking for their furever home – dog, kitteh, bird, goat – it doesn’t matter. And you don’t have to know them pawsonally. You can just go to Petfinder and choose one in your area if you want.

THEN – oh gosh, I LUVS this part – the very next week, we’ll draw FIVE names outta everybuddy who pawticipated. And each of those 5 furends will get to choose a rescue for us to donates 100 green papers to! That’s 5 rescues that’ll gets 100 green papers each!

How about that? You’ll be helping to gets the word out about a pet who needs a home AND you could win 100 green papers for your favoritest rescue! Gosh, I just know that would make Grampa J awfully happy.

Mayzie

Today’s adoptable pet comes from Petfinder.com. Sandy is a female Belgian/German Shepherd mix doggie from Indianapolis, IN, whose family has to give her up because they are moving to a smaller home with a smaller backyard. They would love for Sandy to go to a furever home with the amount of room that she is accustomed to.

Couch Cam: Part 3

Here’s some info about Sandy:

Sandy came to the present owners at one year of age. She is the only dog in the family and seems to like it that way. Sandy is not a big fan of other dogs and needs to be the only dog in her household.. Sandy lives on a small hobby farm, and hasn’t had a lot of interaction like a neighborhood would provide. She is housebroken, smart, and has a variety of tricks she can perform. She is a great gaurd dog and takes protecting the property very seriously. She is used to having the run of the back yard, and in good weather spends most of her time outside. She is seven years old now and just this week was updated with all of her shots. She is a thin animal only weighing in at about 44 pounds. Her doctor believes she is in good shape, and she acts younger than she is. Her family of four is moving very soon into a neighborhood with a small yard and feels that Sandy would do better in a larger environment similar to the farm life she has enjoyed for the last six years. Sandy is spayed, up to date on shots and house trained.

If you would like to pawticipate in Mayzie’s Rescue Week, let Mayzie know!

I can tell you are not only super smart, but also very empathetic. You take care of your family and you try to be very good when they are out. Good dog!

    Hi Baily,
What were you thinking alone for all that long long time alone??????????????? Poor dogs!!
I really wonder what they think about while we are a way!!!!
I would love to have Sandy but I guess we are way too far away from where she is.
    xx, Fern

  4. Hi Y’all,

Hey! no comfy bed of your own? The couch invader deserved what you gave it!

Bailey, humans are taught they can NOT discipline us UNLESS they actually catch us in the act…and that doesn’t include video when they weren’t close enough to catch you BEFORE you got back off the sofa! 😉

    Y’all come by now,
    Hawk aka BrownDog

P.S. Hope your humans are soon healthy again! I’ll keep my paws crossed for them!

  5. siku marie says:

We hope your family gets well soon and you won’t have to play nurse. Despite getting on the couch (which is a bad thing in your house), you DID get back down quickly and it WAS because you were lonely and wanted your peeps. When momma leaves us, I often just curl right up in her chair and don’t move until she gets back. P.S. I don’t think Nala would rat you out, she loves you!

  6. bert says:

I am sorry that you have so much sickies going on, but if you get a minute, yes…..any old picture with hats would work for the contest.

    Hope everyone gets feeling better

    Bert

  7. Sophie says:

Hey, we don’t blame you for getting up on the couch invader, Bailey! You’re doing so well still!

  8. That couch invader just looks soooooo soft and warm and high and irresistable. Sorry you gave into temptation, but, I guess we all have our weak moments.

    Puppy Kisses,
    Tanner

  9. ooops, I also meant to wish your family a speedy recovery – I got all carried away about the couch!

    Sending hugs to all,

    Your pal Snoopy 🙂

  10. Haha Bailey,

Way to go girl!! I’m proud of you!! I had to laugh when I saw you on the couch!! You looked a little nervous, it will get easier in time, best to just put your head straight under the cushion, it also helps to avoid detection!!

In no time, you’ll be up there the moment they go out, have a nice snooze and keep one ear open so you can jump off when you hear them coming home, trust me, it works!! 🙂 Yeah, I know they’re videoing, but so what?! Tee Hee

The best bit of you being busted is they can’t tell you off, cos they were out so long, you can just pretend you have no idea what they’re telling you off for!! A Dog’s life has it’s advantages, hey?! 🙂

    Glad you’re having fun,

    Your pal Snoopy )

  11. Brian says:

We are sending purrs to sweet Sandy and I sure hope she gets her forever home really soon. Hey Bailey, there is an imposter on your couch getting you in trouble!

  12. I nose it….I nose it…..I just nose dat you would get caught on da couch invader. Did you forget to erase dat tape?

Hope Sandy finds a 4-ever home real soon.

    :o)

  13. 2browndawgs says:

We guess our eyes cannot take you being bad Bailey because the video says private. 😉

Anyway, you already know the secret, just wait 2 hours and the couch is yours! We can usually tell time and know when its time for a dinner, or bed, so with a little practice, you will have a nice soft place to sleep. lol

    the 2 brown dawgs

PS Sorry to read about the family health issues. Hope all is well.

  14. Suka says:

    hey Bailey,

You rock! That is so pawsome that you only stayed on the couch for two minutes, and then got down all by yourself and stayed off the rest of the time. You are very disciplined. Excellent job! I hope you were well rewarded with yummy treats!!

And hilarious about Nala ratting you out! Do you really think she would?! Keep up the great work, Bailey!!

Sandy is a beautiful pup, and how sad the family – after seven years – is giving her away. I think she would rather stay with her family than have a big yard, but I am not to judge. I am sure they know what is best for her. I will keep my paws crossed that she finds a wonderful forever home, and quickly. Thanks for showcasing her!

Very sad to read of the health issues in your family. We have you in our thoughts and prayers to heal and feel better soon. You are a very sweet pup to take care of your family so well.
