Oct-Nov 2010: First Months

October, 2010: 4 months, 34 lbs.
November, 2010: 5 months, 43 lbs.

October and November went by so quickly! In October I had my last series of shots (yay!), and my doctor said I was in perfect health. Not that I mind visiting the doctor — I meet lots of other doggies there, and even see a few cats! (Hiss!). You should have seen me the first time I saw a cat though…scared me so much I started barking and got everyone’s attention! Someone said, “First time she’s seen a cat?” Heck yeah first time!

For Halloween, my family has this tradition of putting silly hats on the dogs in the family. Why? I don’t know. But it makes them smile. 🙂 And since Nala’s been doing it for years, I tried to join in. Well…at first I put up a fight — those hats were fun to play with! But after a while, I let them take a couple of pics (see this page for more photos).

At the beginning of November I was spayed and couldn’t run around for 10 days. Were they kidding?! Try and keep me still for any amount of time and I’m a basket case! My family had to keep me on a leash for the first few days — that’s the only way they were able to keep me from running and jumping all over. I pretty much felt like sleeping most of the time the first couple of days anyway, but by the 4th day, I was ready to get back into shape! But I followed the doctor’s orders and tried to be mellow for as long as I could. 😉

Nala was 12 years this month, and we celebrated with ice cream and candles!! You should see how excited Nala gets when our family sings ‘Happy Birthday’ — it’s so funny. We celebrated my 5th month birthday on the same day…I think I’m gonna like this a whole lot!

I also went on my first road trip at the end of November. We all went to visit family for Thanksgiving. I had fun being in a new place and being around all the people! My mom said everyone told her how well-behaved I was. That’s a good thing, because I would love to visit family again. 🙂
