Out with the Old, In with the New

Today was a busy day! I spent some time with daddy, and MT (my human sister), got some new furniture. ๐Ÿ™‚

Daddy decided that he wanted to spend some alone time with me. Well, not only that — he wanted to keep me away from Nala, because it seems that my tail keeps wanting to hit her in her bad eye. Does anyone else have a tail that keeps hitting your other furry sisters &/or brothers? Please send me ideas on how I can train my tail!

Daddy took me in the car to the beach (he didn’t take any pictures, so I guess I’ll have to try and make this pretty descriptive). When we got into the car, he made sure I had my pretty, red seat belt on. My seat belt is fluffy and soft, and I know it keeps me safe, but I just don’t like it.

There are so many things to see while driving in the car — doggies, cats, birds, and PEOPLE! I don’t know which to look at first!

After we got to the beach and parked, daddy came around to my side and took my harness off. I jumped out of the car, and we walked toward a stacked pile of wood. Daddy said these were steps. I’ve never seen steps before! We had to climb up the steps in order to get to the beach, but there was no way I was going to climb up those things.

After some pleading, I decided to try putting my paws up on the first step. It felt weird, but I finally put another paw up. Daddy of course, helped me the rest of the way. Wooohooo! I finally made it to the top. I thought the beach would be here, but it wasn’t. I could see the beach, but we had to go down some more steps to actually get on the beach. But I wasn’t as anxious to go down the steps on the other side! So daddy had to find another way to get us onto the beach. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Luckily, there was a pathway around the side, and so we walked through there. Once we got through the bushes, we were walking on sand.

Once we were on the beach, daddy took me near the ocean. He thought I’d be happy to go into the water (since I LOVE water so much), but NOPE! I didn’t like it!

We walked along the beach for a while, and each time a wave came in I jumped out of the way. Daddy took me home after a while — he knew I just wasn’t enjoying this beach experience. Maybe we’ll try again another time.

When we got home, I ran into MT’s room to tell her about my day. Her room looked like a tornado hit it! She had her armoire in the middle of the floor, and the drawers had been taken out of it, and the TV was missing!

Oh wait — it wasn’t missing. It was on top of a new piece of furniture!

MT told me that she has had her brown wooden furniture since forever! She was ready for something new, and is getting some new furniture in black wood. One new piece she already bought, is a new TV stand. It’s much smaller than her old armoire. The old armoire was huge! It used to hold her TV, and even had a couple of drawers for her clothes. She won’t be able to put any clothes in this new TV stand!

I thought I should inspect the clothing…
you never know what you can find in clothes drawers!

I stuck around until they were done,
just in case they needed my help. ๐Ÿ™‚

I have some other news… I won’t be starting Nose Works classes this week. There was some mix-up, and now mommy and daddy say that I won’t be taking this class. I do hope they sign me up for another class though… I liked meeting all those doggies from my last class.

Oh! here’s something funny that happened today… Nala tried to walk under me! It’s not the usual walking under me (like in this video). It’s a little different now. Someone really needs to tell her that she just cannot fit underneath me while that cone is on her head!

Well, that’s about it for now. I’m off to sleep.

Woofs & hugs,

~Bailey

  2. Daddy bonding time + the beach?! You are one lucky girl, Bailey!

  3. Bailey, I hate water too! Have you ever had a bath? It’s probably even worse than the ocean. I am also averse to steps. Marmie does wonder why though, since it’s not like I’d never used them before, when I was a street talkin kitty.

Glad you had a great day with Daddy!!! Hope you can get into a new class soon.
My tail is pretty long too. I hit a lot of walls and furniture. Sometimes Mommy even accidentally steps on it. I need to learn to “tuck” my tail too.

    Puppy Kisses!!

Oh my goodness, those ears are something else! I love them!!
I’m sorry the beach was a bit challenging, but maybe as you get older it won’t seem so bad – maybe the water was too chilly?
That silly Nala trying to go under you with a cone – that must’ve given Mommy and Daddy a good chuckle ๐Ÿ˜‰
