The Big Thing: Part III

Last weekend Nala and I endured another couple of days surrounded by plastic, noise, dust, and stressed-out humans. I’m talking about the return of The BIG THING…

The BIG THING started last month and lasted for two days. It was not fun in the beginning, ’cause I had no idea what was going on. But last weekend it came back. Nala and I didn’t really mind it this time as much, ’cause mommy and Taylor kept us busy. We even played! The house was a total mess, and yet we PLAYED!

It wasn’t ALL fun though — we weren’t able to go to one part of the house for a while. That was really hard. They moved all the furniture and the couch blocked our path to the rest of the house. Nala and I didn’t like that one bit.

The Big Thing: Part III
Ah, the plastic is backkk. Last time, daddy put plastic up all over the house.
When he removes the tile with the big, noisy machine, the plastic helps keep the
dust from getting all over stuff.

The Big Thing: Part III
Daddy attached the plastic to long pieces of wood, which he
screwed into the ceiling. He didn’t use the wood at first, but he
found out soon enough that no tape was going to hold the plastic
to the ceiling… especially with doggies around. πŸ˜‰

The Big Thing: Part III
This time I was going to help!

The Big Thing: Part III
Well, I wanted to help. Taylor thought it was better
if she distracted me. I do like skateboards…

The Big Thing: Part III
A skateboard with plastic — I like that even better.

The Big Thing: Part III
There’s something about the wheels on a skateboard
that interests me. But I wasn’t really in the mood.

The Big Thing: Part III
I really wanted to help my daddy.

The Big Thing: Part III
Maybe I could work the drill.

The Big Thing: Part III
I tried to get a good look at it, but as I got closer,
all of a sudden I heard a strange noise behind me.

The Big Thing: Part III
Nala couldn’t find her way out of the kitchen!
She got caught in the plastic that daddy had put up!

The Big Thing: Part III
When Taylor tried to help her go under, she got caught up in the
plastic, too! Well, I might have had something to do with that.

The Big Thing: Part III
As the plastic went up, Nala and I found less and less space to walk.

The Big Thing: Part III
I became a little frustrated and began to run around,
so I had to be put on a leash.

The Big Thing: Part III
I took a short nap, then Taylor and I played ball!

The Big Thing: Part III
But uh-oh! Taylor bounced the ball up into the plastic!

The Big Thing: Part III
I tried to get it, but it was a little too high for me.

The Big Thing: Part III
Since we couldn’t play ball, we played a little frisbee…
which pretty much consisted of me running around with it.

The Big Thing: Part III
And Nala trying to catch me. Which she never did. πŸ˜‰

The Big Thing: Part III
Look at all this floor space! Soon it’s gonna be surrounded by plastic,
and we won’t be able to get in here. Daddy’s gonna bring the machine in
and remove all the icky tile. We’ll be staying in Taylor’s room for that.

The Big Thing: Part III
But first, I’m gonna do a few zoooomies!! Watch out, Nala!

The Big Thing: Part III
I just know they’re gonna make me go into the other room…

The Big Thing: Part III
But I’ve got to run all over and go a little crazy…
There’s just too much space for me NOT to!

The Big Thing: Part III
It’s not over yet… stay tuned for life ‘outside’ the plastic…

Next: The BIG THING: Part IV!

oh, that ball stuck up there in the plastic-would’ve driven yuki crazy and me crazy as well with high pitch barking. Seems you guys have a lot going on for this big project! Happy Weekend πŸ™‚

  3. Hmmm one has to wonder what it could possibly be?

  4. We always try to help our hu-dad with our projects, but he always says we are the most help when we go outside and play. Not sure how that helps, but it is fun.

Y’all sure have been busy…and I’ll bet you can get that fan! We don’t like strange noises in our house either!!!

  13. That’s a lot of work, it will be worth it though. Just hang tough.

  14. That looks very interesting!! At least you were able to do some zoomies!! Holly had to be put on a leash yesterday too because of construction outside….she wanted to go help and investigate and I said no way. I was leading her around the house and outside for hours on the leash!! Have a fun weekend! Lots of love, Debbie & Holly

  15. Yikes, that must be a very noisy and messy process. We have wood floors and Mom wants to trade it in for tile – humans, they are never satisfied:) Hope you and Nala can find something to keep you busy.
