I used to stay in a crate when I was a little puppy. I also had to stay in a crate when everyone left the house. Can you believe it? Not trusting me to be alone?! What madnessss!
First things first…
I’m sorry I haven’t been visiting… oh my goshies — when someone in the family is not feeling well, it takes all my time away. My mommy has her hands full, and I have been helping her. I promise I will be by soon. >..< About yesterday’s post…
I know many of you don’t like photoshopped images — usually don’t use them myself. In fact, I think yesterday was the very first time I have. Ya see, it was really hard to get a pic of me jumping over the moon — ’cause he was camera shy! Teehee! So just so you know, that’s the only pic that I photoshopped. The others are all actual mischief. >..< Now back to my regular scheduled post…

When I was a smaller puppy, my mommy brought home this bed.
It’s soft, but it’s pretty flat. I used to use it in my crate.

It was nice, but I prefer to sleep on the floor
in the dark hallway, with my feet up on the closet door.
If you search my site, you’ll find that I sleep all over the house… especially at night. I just can’t decide where I want to spend the entire night!
I used to spend a good part of the night on our old couch, but since that’s been gone, I can’t do that anymore. And ever since the couch has been gone, I’ve been sleeping lots on the floor. Lots of times I have trouble getting up, and sometimes after I get up, I walk with a limp. That’s got my family all concerned.
I recently saw my doctor, who told my mommy that there didn’t seem to be anything wrong with my hind legs. He even said I had good muscle tone… but you’d never know it, ’cause I’m still walking around with this limp half the time. Good thing it doesn’t affect my running — I’m still as fast as ever!
Sooo…. because of the limp, my mommy thought I should get a new bed — one with some support.

And this past weekend she came home with this thing.
I sat on it ’cause she asked me to, not ’cause I liked it.

I wouldn’t sit on it much, so she ended up putting the
bed where I like to sleep, and telling me to lay on it.

She even put it in the dark hallway! How am
I supposed to put my feet up on the closet door?

I just ended up back on the floor, laying in one
of my other favorite spots. Mommy just doesn’t get it.

I like the floor and I like the carpet.
I don’t like that new bed.

It looks like Nala likes my new bed. She could have it.

Well, now that it’s Nala’s, I might want it.

Move, Nala… lemme try it again.

So she caught me sleeping on it — doesn’t mean I like it. >..<
Missing Doggie Reminder…
A beautiful foster doggie named Lady from No Dog About It Blog (Eagan, Minnesota), has been missing since Friday, 11-18-11. Please call 612-616-7477 with any sightings (even if not recently). Program these numbers into your cell as you drive the area, in case you spot Lady. Please give time, exact location of sighting, and the direction the dog headed. DO NOT follow her, try to catch her or call out to her β this will spook her from the area and may cause her to run onto a busy road. Visit No Dog About It Blog and see how you can help spread the word. Drop off some woofs & prayers while you’re there — they sure could use them. Thank you, friends!

loving the new bed bailey! Although it looks like you would be able to sleep anywhere π paws on the closet door is definitely my fav
There is always an adjustment time for new things; time to break them in and make them fit YOU! Give it a chance, share the bed a little with Nala, see what you both think. Maybe it won’t be the entire nighttime bed you choose but you might find you like it on cold nights…or rainy sotrmy ones…or just as a change of pace.
I think you should give your new bed a few more trys! It looks so comfy!
Oh, a new bed…that always takes a little digging, nesting, and breaking in. Or, if one of the other siblings decide to take it, then suddenly it is way more appealing. Yep, Wolf just got a new one (he had a hand-me-down and I thought since every other pup had their very own new one, he deserved one too). I think he misses his old flat one. Love your pics, they are adorable!
you guys look so cute posing for the pawparazzi

Stop on by for a visit

As skinny and bony as he is, Phantom prefers the hard floor too. We have beds from LL Bean that we all love, but we also like to nap in our crates. TD definitely has the loveseat as first choice for him:)
We bet that once you get that new bed broken in, you will love it.

Hey Bailey – I am with you. The floor is the best place, it’s nice and cool. My Mom has bought me soooo many beds, all different types from memory foam to a trampoline and I just totally ignore them.

We like to sleep on the floor, but we also like our beds. Your bed looks very nice and comfortable. π
the 2 brown dawgs
Well, as long as you get to sleep, me guesses anywhere is just fine. Whenever me falls asleep, someone always comes and wakes me up. Not good!
I love the pics of you sleeping all over. I agree it takes time to get used to a new dog bed.
All of our dogs accept Dr. Z who doesnt want to, sleeps in the bed
Finding just the right bed or place to sleep is pretty personal. We have different places for Stewie to sleep. Tucker has to sleep in his crate at night because he is not housebroken yet. Stewie really likes the couch during the day if there is a cozy blanket for him to curl up in. Otherwise he loves his crate with it’s blankets. He loves to wind himself up so you can’t see him.
Hope you like your new bed…maybe it just will take awhile.
Silly Bailey! My dogs would be all over that π
I never like new beds at first….they smell funny.
you sleeping with the paws on the closet door is pretty funny.
and you know i loved the moon photo!
I think it’s great that you can share!! Jack sleeps all over the house too, mostly on my head.
Oh Bailey, you’re a silly one. That looks like a great snuggly bed. You might get used to it in time. π
(And count me among those who thought the photoshopped pic was cute. π
Sometimes new beds are cool, sometimes not, it depends on who is watching!!!
hey Bailey,
So you really didn’t jump over the moon? ;->
That seems to be the way of the world – you don’t want something until someone else has it. Your mom should have given Nala the bed in the first place, then I bet you would have been sleeping on it every night! BOL!
I am like you, I prefer hard sleeping surfaces most of the time. But now that I am older I sometimes like the softer surfaces. I also have been known to sleep against the wall with my feet up. That can be very comfy, and humans seem to think it is a cute pose. So it is win-win. :->
I am sorry to read about your limp and hope it turns out to be nothing. Glad your mom took you to the Vet. Always better to be safe than sorry. Paws crossed it goes away soon!
Suka
Sometimes a bed just isn’t as cool as the nice cold floor is it Bailey? Looks like you changed your mind and realized how comfy it just might be π
I used to sleep on my favourite big fat and soft cushion at night until Mom found that I would have LOTS of trouble getting up and would sometimes cry and limp so they went out and got me a firm day mattress that they folded into 3 (I’m a small girl) AND supplements and now I am like a young pup again (I’m 11 years)…oh, and I LOVE my new bed.
I’m sure you’ll learn to love your new bed too, Bailey (especially if Nala likes it). *wink*
It is hard to adjust to a new bed. It looks like you and Nala might end up with a time share.
I liked the photo shopped stuff.
