It’s finally arrived, friends! The final grout day!
But first…
My mommy is being featured over at Roxy the Traveling Dog, today! If you have a moment, please do click here so you could learn more about her. π
Also…
My mommy has been looking for a kitty to draw (a kitty, I know!), but she hasn’t come across a good photo to use until she discovered this one. My mommy was last in touch with this kitty’s owners, when they so kindly reviewed one of her books, My Dog’s Checklists & Journal. You can read their review on this page.
I hope you don’t mind me sharing this drawing with you. π

It’s Felix, from Cattipper.com. π
This is the reference photo.
My mommy doesn’t have any rhyme or reason to which furries she draws (unless it has been commissioned). She is currently building up her portfolio… and since I have the best looking furry friends, she’s been browsing around the bloggie neighborhood. When a photograph catches her eye, she just knows… and that’s the drawing she chooses. All of the drawings I post are 5″x7″ unless it says otherwise. If I post a drawing of your furry one, you can indeed purchase it. Please contact me. I will let my mommy know. You can find more information on this page. Thank you, friends! Woofs! π
Now for Wordless Wednesday: Wall to Wall
Last Wednesday, the floor man came to our house and re-grouted for the 6th time (the 2nd time he’s grouted the entire floor). This man should know what he’s doing — he’s an installer for a huge company that has stores throughout the United States, Canada, and a few other places. He’s been working with them for many years, and has never before had a problem such as this. Are we that lucky to be the only ones to have this problem?

When the floor man grouted the very first time back
in September, 2011, there was no furniture in the house.

Mommy and daddy made sure to remove the dining room table,
all the chairs, and they got rid of our old couches. But this
time, our new couch stayed in the living room, and so did the
dining room table. Mommy and daddy were not moving these.

The floor man started in the kitchen. Wowserz, what a mess!

But after he was done, the floor looked pretty good.

Mommy hasn’t gotten down on her hands and knees to inspect
the grout (I think she’s afraid to), but the grout was mixed with
a hardener. Hopefully, this will keep the grout from caving in.

Mommy has to finish cleaning up a lot of things, like the
legs of the couch invader. Even though it was covered in plastic,
its poor little leggies got dirty from the grout. Boo hoo!

I hope this last time was the last!

The bad thing about grouting, is that we can’t walk on the floor.
Well, Nala and I can’t walk on it, ’cause we keep stepping on the
grout lines… and that’s a big no-no until it dries. So mommy had
to get out all the pieces of wood again. There is no fun part here.

But I didn’t mind laying on the wood. I’ve done it before, and
I’ll do it again. I could do without the leash in the house, though.

Mommy brought my bed over to her desk, ’cause I didn’t like
staying in the bedroom without her. I managed for the night. π
As of today, the grout seems to be OK, but mommy says she is going to give it a closer look later today. She still needs to CLEAN all the grout dust (AGAIN) that gathered ALL over the living room from the grout removal process. Mommy says she showed pictures to the company, and they promised to give her a nice credit so she could get the house cleaned. AND… the floor man is coming back TOMORROW to SEAL the grout for free. I’m starting to see a light at the end of this crazy tunnel.
Just when mommy picked up all of the wood, she will will probably have to put it down again. *sigh*

hey Bailey,
What an ordeal! Sorry to read about your floor issues. My paws are crossed that this is the last time. The floor looks very pretty so hopefully this time it will work out. Good luck!
Sorry about the leash in the house though. Geesch, it is bad enough having to wear a leash outside but in your own house? Not cool. :->
Beautiful kitty-cat drawing!
Suka
We’re keeping our paws crossed that this is the final time and it seals real good!!
Your friend,

I hope the grout man is finally done, there is nothing worse than having your home in upheaval due to rennovations.
I have my Paws Crossed that the Grout is Stout and that the entire pawject will be a total success.. THIS TIME. I certainly think that you DESERVE a CREDIT fur all that you have put up with.
Love the Kitty Picture.
Gee, Baily! I would think that a good layer of dirt would have been a lot easier and a lot cheaper!

Bailey, we’ll keep our fingers and paws crossed that this is the last time you have to see the grout man! Your Momma must be getting tired of this! She did a beautiful drawing Felix. He’s stunning!!
