Toy Reviews & Funny Picture

Today is my 3rd class! I think I remember hearing something about teaching us to not jump up on people. That’s gonna be hard! I’ll let you know how it goes tomorrow. But while I’m waiting to leave, I thought I would share my experience with a couple of the new toys that mommy brought home for us.

Mommy’s always buying us toys — not only because she loves us. But because she’s always looking for toys that I can’t chew up (and I chew up MANY).

Toy #1: Look Who’s Talking LoofaTM Doggie & Duckie

New ToysNala and I received a couple of new toys this week. One mommy brought home the other day is called Look Who’s Talking LoofaTM Dog, and the other is a Look Who’s Talking LoofaTM Duck. They’re really, really cute. And they TALK! Doggies LOVE talking toys.

The Good Stuff:

Mommy held them both in front of Nala and me, and Nala seemed to like the duckie, so mommy gave her that one. I got the doggie, which was cool with me — I love doggies.

The great thing about these toys, is that they TALK! If you bite on Nala’s duckie’s head, it’ll go, “Tweet, tweet.” It’s a nice, soft-sounding talking doggie toy. Mommy says those are the best ones. They entertain us, and don’t drive everyone else crazy. ๐Ÿ˜‰

My doggie toy barked twice, and then panted a couple of times. It really kept my attention, especially when I managed to get it to talk. Nala and I both enjoyed dragging our toys around the house.

Since the talking box is small, and it’s located in the head, most of the time Nala and I heard squeaks instead of talking. That’s because we held each toy by the body, and inside the body is a squeaker. So when we did bite on the head, the talking surprised us, which was really fun. I just wish it talked each time I held it.

The Not-So-Good Stuff:

Well, I didn’t get a chance to chew this toy to pieces, but I did manage to break the talker that’s inside the doggie’s head. Mommy says I crushed it because I was biting it so hard. Hey, I was only trying to get him to talk again and again! Nala’s toy still squeaks, so I guess it’s just me that bites too hard. I know there’s a toy out there for me that talks and is fun to hold like my Kitty Cat. Mommy just has to find it.

My conclusion? This toy is not good for chewers like me. Next!

Toy #2: Dogzilla&#174, by Petmate

New ToysThis morning mommy came home with 2 soft bone-shaped toys that said Dogzilla on them. Don’t know what that means, but the tag says, “The Irresistible Durable Toy for Tough Chewers!” I guess they don’t know their customers very well!

The Good Stuff:

At first, this toy seemed really fun to play with. It squeaked when you bit down on it in the center. Nala liked hers, but dropped it after a while. I guess a bone-shaped squeaky toy isn’t one of Nala’s favorites.

New ToysThis toy is very interesting. It says it’s durable, but if you look at this toy, you’ll see felt-like material all the way around it. It’s on the top, and on the bottom. Is felt durable? I thought I would test it out to see exactly how durable the felt is.

The Not-So-Good Stuff:

After about 15 minutes, mommy came over to see what I was doing. I was laying on the floor near the table, and I was holding and chewing on my new Dogzilla toy. All of a sudden, the toy was gone! Mommy had taken it and stared at it. Oh boy. There goes another toy.

In my testing phase of the felt, I had discovered that it was NOT durable. Take a look at the following photos — see the black felt border that’s around the edges of the bone? It’s gone. Wanna know why? ‘Cause I ate it!

  1. Aww, love the pictures!
Rudy is quite good at destroying any stuffie in our house…

  2. We are very fortunate that Gus is gentle on his toys (he’s sort of a wuss). I feel for you that they go through toys so quickly…that would get expensive! I have a sneaking suspicion that dog toy companies purposefully manufacture their toys poorly so parents have to keep buying!

Have you ever tried stuffies made for babies/newborns? Gus has a few and they’ve lasted since he was a puppy (again, he’s a wuss though). They seem to be made a bit stronger than dog toys!

Hmmm, my mommy has thought that about dog toy companies. I bet you guys are right about that! ๐Ÿ˜‰

My mommy hasn’t ever brought home stuffies — I will have to tell her about them!

  3. Bailey you are a great tester dog for durability of toys! the toughest toy we’ve found so far is the Premier Pogo Plush which we reviewed on our blog last month. Even the destructomatic puppy Lily hasn’t managed to get the squeaker out yet!

Our house has yet to meet and indestructible toy!
