Review: Canidae Dog Food

I recently received a request to review Canidae^&#174 dog food. Refuse food? I don’t think so!

Canidae^&#174 Dog Food

I’ve never heard of Canidae^&#174 dog food before, but since I received this review request, I learned that they are a natural pet food company, and produce a few different types of foods and treats for doggies and kitties. For this review, I chose pureElements, a grain-free formula for doggies.

This food is good for all doggies — puppies, adults, working doggies, and even older doggies like my furry sister, Nala.

I received one voucher for a 15lb bag of dog food.

Nala & I were very interested in what was in the bag.
It didn’t look like our every day doggie food!

A new food, huh? I wonder how it’ll taste…

errr, before mommy opened up the bag with a scissor. 🙂

We couldn’t wait for mommy to open the bag!

Since mommy didn’t want to give us a full bowl
for our dinner, she decided to give us some of the
new food for our breakfast. She had us sit down so
each of us could try a piece or two at first.
Nala got to try a piece of the new food first.

She always gets to go first — why is that?

Nala seemed to like it, so then it was my turn.

I started chewing it… but

I usually spit out new foods at first, and
this time was no different. Out it went!

I eventually chewed it up, and mommy gave us more.
But this time she made us wait until she said, “OK.”
May as well get in a little training, huh mommy?

Since we enjoyed the new food, mommy filled up
each of our bowls for breakfast. Nala and I usually
get little pieces of bread in with our food, well,
’cause we like that. But mommy didn’t put anything
in with this new food — and we both ate it!
It was kinda shocking to mommy.

And looked like she was really enjoying it.

I ate mine all up…

And even ate the pieces that fell on the floor!
That NEVER happens. Shocker!

Then I went back to the bag and tried to get some more…

The Good Stuff:

• It tastes really good! Mommy doesn’t even have to bribe Nala and me to eat it — we enjoy eating it without anything else in the bowl!
• The pieces are small and easy enough for older doggies to eat — even Nala can eat it with her almost 14 year old teeth!
• It’s grain-free and healthier than other dog foods!
• The company guarantees your satisfaction! If you’re not completely satisfied with any of their products, just have your mommy or daddy return the unused portion with the receipt to where they purchased it. Then they can get a refund or replacement.

The Not-So-Good Stuff: Don’t worry, it’s not that bad!

• This doggie food is a bit more costly than some other doggie foods.
• My mommy would have loved it if the bag was resealable (probably so I couldn’t stick my nose back into the bag to get more… heh).

My conclusion?

Nala and I were really happy with this doggie food. We enjoyed the taste, the size of the pieces, and loved that it was healthy for us. We definitely recommend it. 🙂
