Today’s Dr. Seuss Day, or Read Across America Day, as it’s also known. This is a special day — it’s Dr. Seuss’s birthday! I LOVE when my mommy reads me stories, so I can imagine how happy children are when their family reads them stories!
Before I get to today’s post… remember the post I did last month about Pinterest? Well, I recently found out that there is one line of code you could add to your website’s header, that will prevent visitors from pinning anything. Check it out under the 3-1-12 Update on this page.
Now for today’s challenge…
On Read Across America Day, pick out a book and read it to your child, and your furry ones! Random House and the National Education Association (NEA) ask you to participate in this second annual Read Across America. Check the end of this post for special links for participating in today’s event!
Dr. Seuss Day Challenge…

My friends over at Da Weenies of Florida and Zoolatry, are celebrating Dr. Seuss Day with a fun challenge! Today anything goes — “a funny picture — a silly rhyme, whatever you do ~ will be just fine!”
I decided to write a little Dr. Seuss-like rhyme…
|
It started one night I was put in a car. They opened the door And said, “Here we are!” They carried me out I was ever so cautious, And then I was in, It was big and was furry, It was my new sister, “Nala,” I couldn’t believe it. A new sister and family, |
Here are a couple of pics of me when I was a puppy — that was just about 1½ years ago!

My ears were silly even back then!

This was Nala’s and my couch. Ah, how I miss it.
