A Boy & His Ball, & Cute Doggie Video

I’m not a mean puppy to friends of my family, but if I don’t know you and you tease me with a big ball time and time again, I’m not gonna like you.

Mommy and HS took me for a walk today to visit some neighbor friends of theirs. They have 2 little doggies, but they didn’t come outside to see us. Mommy told me that I played with one of their doggies when I was a little puppy, but as I grew, the doggie had gotten scared of me.

Mommy’s friends, a mommy and her big boy, were outside when we got there. I’m gonna call the mommy friend “S” and her boy “R.” I kind of remember S — she’s a really nice lady who always says my name and calls me a good girl. I like her a lot. But I don’t remember meeting R before, even though mommy told me that I did meet him a couple of times.

A Boy & His Ball
R was playing basketball in the driveway. Boy did that basketball
make a lot of noise when it bounced.

A Boy & His Ball
I was really interested in that ball. I sat and watched R bounce it for a while.

A Boy & His Ball
R didn’t talk to me much. All he did was bounce the ball and throw it into a net way up high. And sometimes he would bounce the ball in my direction.

Once R bounced the ball up so high, that it passed right in front of me. I tried to get it, but when R came in my direction, I growled at him to let him know that he was threatening me. I think the whole neighborhood heard.

Mommy told me that he was only playing, but it didn’t seem that way to me.

A Boy & His Ball
R bounced the ball one time too many in my direction. I got really mad.

A Boy & His Ball
I started growling at him. Mommy said in between my growling
and barking, I made a huffing sound, like a horse!

A Boy & His Ball
But most of the time I just barked really loud at R.

A Boy & His Ball
Mommy’s friend wanted R to make friends with me. So he bounced the ball toward me a couple of times. Once it bounced high enough and when I put my head down, it rolled down my back! It didn’t hurt, but I felt a bit silly! Everyone laughed.

A Boy & His Ball
I wanted to play with the ball, but I was not happy with R. He was teasing me by holding the ball up in the air and pretending to throw it at me. Even though he wasn’t standing that close to me, and everyone told me it was OK,
I still felt threatened by him.

A Boy & His Ball
When R started to come closer to get the ball,
I let him know how mad I was at him.

A Boy & His Ball
R tried a few times to make friends with me, but I didn’t want to listen. I was already upset with him, and now I was even upset with the basketball!

A Boy & His Ball
I heard everyone tell R that he lost his chance to become friends with me. They weren’t mad, and R didn’t look mad.
I give him credit for trying. It was just too late.

A Boy & His Ball
R finally gave up and went inside his house. I tried to pounce on him when he turned to leave, but mommy held me back.

I’ve never met a boy who played around as much as this one did. He wasn’t being mean — he was just being a boy. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I may change my mind one day, and become friends with him. Isn’t it a girl puppy’s prerogative to change her mind?

Now for a really cute doggie video…

Speaking of girl puppies, Nala and I came across the following doggie video — it’s just too cute to miss! I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. ๐Ÿ™‚

My friend Gus is in a contest, and he could use your help! If you have a moment, could you please vote for him? If you sort by popularity, you’ll see him on the first page (he’s from San Antonio). I would really appreciate it, and I know Gus and his family would too!

Woofs & hugs everyone,

~Bailey

Awww, I’m sad the contest is ending — it would have been awesome for Gus to win. At least we can say we tried! ๐Ÿ™‚
