It seems that lots of people have mistaken me for a boy — can you imagine that?
Whenever we go on walks, people always say, “What’s his name?” Mommy always replies, “Her name is Bailey.” That must make them feel a little silly.
I guess it’s just like babies, when they’re very young and mommies put these teeny, tiny bows in their teeny, tiny strands of hair… just so people can know they’re girls.
Is it really such a big deal? Well, I don’t care much about wearing girlie things. Please mommy, don’t even think about buying a girlie dress for me. Do they even make them in my size? Doesn’t matter. I’m not wearing it.
It wouldn’t be such a terrible thing, if only the people on our walks called me a boy. But there are a few bloggie friends that still don’t know I’m a girl.
I’m not your usual prissy, bow-wearing, frilly-hanging, nose-uppity girlie girl. I’m your rough and tumblely, tail-smackin’, knock-you-down-if-you-get-in-my-way, girl.
But even so… mommy took me on a photo shoot, just to prove how un-girlie these girlie things make me look.
I didn’t want to. I moaned a lot. And stuck my tongue out. But I did it… just to make my mommy happy.
And for the cheese.

Pfffft!
When mommy took out some accessories, I almost turned and ran away. I didn’t want my bloggie friends to have to suffer looking at these photos of me as a girlie girl. It just isn’t right.

How about I start with something really simple,
like a ribbon around my neck? Pffft!

How do I look as a ballerina? Nah, it just isn’t me.

What about a bow? Now this is just ridiculous.

Quick, can you just take the picture already?

Is it time for my lunch break? Is my cheese here yet?

No way, I am not trying on the red one.

Get over it — I’m not puttin’ it on!

Fine.

Today’s a dark, dark, day in doggie blog land.
Too gloomy, huh?
Maybe
I
should
just
embrace
my
inner
PRINCESSSSSS…

Whatcha think? π
How about you? Were you surprised that I’m a girl? π
Woofs & hugs,
~Bailey

Oh! Bailey! You are funny! Love you pictures!
Haha, awww, ty!!
Hey Bailey,
I’m really not sure about those bows in your hair, yep, they make you look girlie, but I’m just not sure their your colour! π
Don’t worry about people not being sure if you’re a girl – I get mistaken for a girl lots of times, it’s Mum’s fault for putting a clip in my hair, but I really can see lots better with it in, so I just have to suck it up! π
Btw, do you have an email sign up option cos I couldn’t find it?
Have a great day,
Snoopy π
Hi Snoopy! I definitely thought about you when I wrote yesterday’s post… I figured, if you could go around with a little pony tail on your head and not care if people look at you like a girl, I should be able to go around without a bow and not care if people call me a boy. π
I don’t have an email sign up — I did have an RSS feed (that doesn’t appear to be working atm), but you could join via Google Friends and keep up with my blog that way. π
Woofs & hugs,
~Bailey
These are such cute pics!! I love the bow pics π
Most people think Arwen is “Irwin” when I say her name. Not only is this the wrong name, but the wrong sex, too π
It’s ok – she doesn’t care, but when you think of your kiddo being a girl or boy to you, this is a part of them. When someone gets it wrong, it’s like they’re missing a big part of who your dog is!!
That’s exactly how mommy feels!!

Woof! Woof! FUNNY Post. I can totally relate on your photo shoot moments. With my Golden SMILE n Woofs many thinks I am a boy too … I guess our names can’t distinguish our gender. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
I’m glad to know I’m not alone! Thanks Sugar!

OH Bailey, you are not alone! I get called a BOY all the time! But I don’t get offended by it because I’m just like you. I’m a ruff & tuff sorta gal. My hoomies call me a “tom-boy”. Whatever that means! Well infact, ALL 5 of us have been called a boy. I guess boy dogs are very popular.
Girl, you look silly in those thingies! But that tiara looks kinda good on ya.
Thanks Amber-Mae! teehee!
