The Big Thing: Part IV

The BIG THING continues…

This post is continued from Part III of The BIG THING, which started last month.

The Big Thing: Part IV
Daddy put up plastic to keep dust from flying all over the house.
He rented the big noisy machine again, to help him remove the rest of the tiles.

The Big Thing: Part IV
Mommy said the plastic looked like we were hiding aliens.

The Big Thing: Part IV
Nala, mommy, Taylor and me, spent most of the day in Taylor’s room.
We didn’t want to get in daddy’s way when he was working.

The Big Thing: Part IV
The couch was moved over to block Nala and me from going
into the living room. Here’s what we could see from behind the couch.

The Big Thing: Part IV
I couldn’t wait to go on the other side. One time though,
I jumped right over the couch — ’cause the bell rang!

The Big Thing: Part IV
It wasn’t so bad staying in Taylor’s room though. Nala and I
were just anxious to get out and run around.

The Big Thing: Part IV
I had my leash on for part of the time, but it wasn’t attached to anything.

The Big Thing: Part IV
I spent some time sleeping…

The Big Thing: Part IV
But Nala was always on high alert.

The Big Thing: Part IV
Then I found a monkey that danced and sang the Macarena when
you clapped your hands together. I tried to get it to move, but
my paws wouldn’t make a clapping sound. Heh.

The Big Thing: Part IV
Mommy hung out on the floor, and I kept Taylor company on the bed!

The Big Thing: Part IV
Until I fell asleep!

The Big Thing: Part IV
When daddy was finished picking up the tile, mommy and Taylor
got something to eat. They didn’t move the couch back over, so
Nala and I were able to get out and see what was going on.

The Big Thing: Part IV
The next day, mommy took down most of the plastic and picked up
all the tile dirt from the floor. Now ALL of the floor is cement!

This week some people are coming to measure the floor space for new tile! I can’t wait until it’s all over. Mommy says the new floor won’t be as slippery as our old floor — how awesome will that be? πŸ˜‰

New Comment Verification Thingie! Yep, I’m using a new one! Do you see it? Good! You’re not supposed to — it’s invisible! Teehee! Please let me know if you have any trouble with it. So far it’s blocking spam comments and I don’t have to do a thing (and neither do you)! Woof!

Happy Monday woofs & hugs!

Removing old tiles and putting new tiles throughout the house sounds like a BIG project. You and Nala are such super good pups to be so patient of all the disruption and confinement and noise! We bet you will LOVE the new floor.

  7. Sophie says:

It looks like your floor is coming along great! Your Dad must be working so hard to get it all done! πŸ™‚

  8. Wow Bailey, that floor looks really nice! Sorry you’ve had to change your daily schedule so your parents can do house stuff. It really is no fun, is it?

  9. ForPetsSake says:

WooT! Sound like the loud part is over at least! Our girls get so frustrated when they can’t be part of the action. You’d think we were “the most interesting pack in the world” or something. But no…they just need to keep their snooters involved πŸ˜‰

I can’t wait to see the end result!

  10. Bailey, you and Nala sure are good with all the work going on around you!! It sounds like your dad and mom were working really hard on the project! We can’t wait to see the results…it sounds like it is going to be beautiful!! Lots of love, Debbie & Holly

  11. Bailey says:

Dad’s doing lots of work. I hope you like the tile when its all done.

  12. Hey Bailey,

It sounds like you and Nala were very patient this weekend, I’m sure your Dad appreciated it and gave you lots of treats! πŸ™‚ Tee Hee

I think you’re gonna love your new floor, slippery floors are not the greatest for running at speed on, though it’s fun to do skids on them! πŸ™‚ When I’m running around I stick to the carpet even if it would be quicker to go through the kitchen, that floor is slippery wood, so best avoided!

Can’t wait to see your new floor! πŸ™‚

  13. That’a a ton of work, it will all be worth it when it’s done. Hang tough Bailey.

  14. Brian says:

Oh that is gonna be so nice when it is all done, especially the not so slippery tile part!!!

  15. Wowzers, your Dad did a lot of hard work to remove all that tile. We can’t wait to see the new floor. And that monkey sounds pretty cute – you need to get Mom to do some clapping so you can do some dancing:)

    Have a great week.
