I won this reeeeally great toy back in July, 2011 from the Five Sibes… from their July 4 Patriotic Pets Photo Contest. If you click here you can see more pics of my tug toy and the other prizes that Nala and I won. Ever since I won this tug toy, I haven’t had another favorite since.
You can see a pic of my tug toy from August 9, when Nala tried to take it away. Here’s another from August 17 — you could see how much I enjoy just holding it. It was still in pretty good condition then.
The problem with favorite toys though, is that they get used… A LOT.
Here’s what my tug toy looked like brand new.

Here’s me yesterday, more than two months later,
with my two favorite things: my pillows and my tug toy.
BRAID? What BRAID?
Mommy had fixed my braid a few times, because I would pull just
one color and one string would be longer than the rest. But yesterday
when she picked up my tug toy to fix one of the strings, she noticed
that the entire braid was gone. With both ends still knotted,
how did I lose the braid?!
Mommy said that my tug toy wasn’t safe the way it looks in this picture.
Besides opening the end knots up and re-braiding it, there was
one other thing she could do so I could keep playing with it.
She put a couple of knots in the middle of it!
OK, so it’s NOT braids. But at least I get to keep playing with it
a little while longer. Thank you so much for my favorite toy, Five Sibes!
What do you all do when your favorite toy is about to be thrown away? Does your mommy or daddy buy you another just the same, or do they try and get you to like a new one? By the way… *cough* where did you buy this tug toy, Five Sibes? Just in case I one day can’t find my favorite toy!

Oh, how fun! Elka occasionally gets tug toys just like that. If we’re not playing tug, though, she just gets the fleece between her back teeth and chews ’em apart.
Well, dat was so nice of Mom to tie dos knots so you’s could keep playin’ wit dat toy. All our favorite toys seem to grow legs and jus’ disappear! :o(

Bailey, we are so glad you enjoyed your toy!!! Sure looks like you’ve been having a fun time with it! What great pics! I love the last one where your look says, “So, it doesn’t look the same…don’t you dare take it!” We have a hamper full of stuffies & toys that have certainly seen better days, but haven’t tossed them since the Husky kids still pull them out. I do check them all and pull out half-eaten stuffing & remove chomped squeakers to keep them safe, but I don’t toss them either until they are truly beyond help! PetSmart is where we purchased them…but hopefully, when we launch our FiveSibes.com website, we will have our own available to sell! ๐ Keep on playing!!!

You sure did a great job in showing that new toy exactly who is boss!!!
Hope mommy can fix it for you. It is hard to loose something you love. Most of the toys that I have lost, I outgrew. Mommy buys me new stuff for bigger doggies.

When THAT happens to a toy, it is a true sign of a great toy! Some of our favorite toys are the raggediest looking ones. Mom is always threatening to toss them, but then we hide them on her:)
