Big Pool Dreams

When my daddy brought home my big pool a few weeks ago, I thought that was big. But I have really big pool dreams now…

Remember my turtle pool? Well, I don’t use that anymore, ’cause daddy brought home my big pool. Remember?

Big Pool Dreams
It started out as a very quiet morning; just me and my favorite toy.

Mommy changed her clothes and gathered a couple of towels, boards, and a plastic bag with stuff in it. She put her flip flops on and walked out into the backyard… without me!

Big Pool Dreams
Mommy left me and Nala inside! I watched her by the sliding door as she climbed up some steps.

It turns out, that my big pool isn’t the biggest pool in the yard. The huge round thing that’s been standing on one side of our backyard, is a really big pool!

From inside the house, I watched as mommy got into the big pool and swam around. I cried and cried, and tried to find a way to get outside. After a few minutes, Taylor came to the door and let me out.

Big Pool Dreams
I ran around the entire pool to try and find a way to get in.

Big Pool Dreams
I jumped up on the sides, but couldn’t jump high enough.

Big Pool Dreams
I finally climbed up on the same steps that mommy used.
Daddy didn’t finish redoing the deck yet, so I couldn’t go
all the way up on the top.

Big Pool Dreams
I wanted so much to be with mommy.

Big Pool Dreams
But then I thought, “What a huge water bowl!”

Big Pool Dreams
I dreamed of jumping in.

Big Pool Dreams
I could be in the pool in just a matter of seconds.

Big Pool Dreams
It was so hot out — it would be so much fun to splash in the pool.

Big Pool Dreams
But then my attention moved to the many dragonflies that were flying
around the backyard. Mommy says they eat mosquitos. That’s a good thing.

Big Pool Dreams
Can you see them? Taylor says the one in the upper right
looks like a golden snitch. Heh. 😉

Big Pool Dreams
If mommy won’t let me in the pool, maybe I could just
sit here and sunbathe. I just need a towel.

Big Pool Dreams
One day I am going to try this big pool!

Mommy says she first needs to get me a life jacket (who knows if I’ll be able to swim), and a safety ramp for the pool. I’m never left outside alone anyway, but I’m pretty quick. Just in case I jump into the pool, I’ll need a way to get out. I’ll let you know if I ever try it!

Happy Thursday, friends! Big woofs & hugs!

  10. I don’t think you will have any trouble at all swimming but your momma is smart to think about how you could get out – that is important. But I also think it’s important to let you to have a swim – better that you do it under supervision – then run the risk of you sneaking in one day and then getting really scared and never want to get in the water again.

  11. That is awesome! I hate swimming myself, but the Mama would love to have s big pool like that.

    hey Bailey,

What an awesomely big pool! I love how you were so determined to find a way in, I am just sorry it never happened. But your mom is smart to get you a life jacket before you try out the super big pool…just in case! Safety first! Looks like a lot of fun so I hope you can one day enjoy the super big pool with your mom! That is living the life! :->
