I knew the time would come — mommy finally set up the video camera to see if she could catch me going on the couch invader!
Our couch invader, which I also call the non-couch, sits right in the middle of my floor space. Since the old couch has been gone, mommy’s got this crazy idea that Nala and I shouldn’t be allowed on this new couch. Is she crazy? She just may be!
I knew that one day my mommy would set up the video camera to try and catch me jumping up on the couch when she wasn’t around. Well, last week when everyone was out for a few hours, mommy did set up the camera. Was I a good girl?
Before I show you a few snap shots from my mommy’s Hi8 video, I just want to say that mommy thought she rewound the entire tape to the beginning. Sadly, when she got home, she noticed that the entire 2 hours did not record — just the last 1/2 hour. She figured she did not rewind the entire tape. Yes, mommy… that’s exactly what happened. ‘Cause I would never be able to reach up on the shelf to erase the first hour and a half of the recording? Nah, I could never do anything like that. *puppy grin*
Proof I was good…
The first time I walked up to the couch…
I did not go on it.
The second time I went near it, I smelled it.
It smelled like a new toy. π
And I still didn’t go on it.
It wasn’t until Nala (who was on the other side of the hallway gate) started barking and going crazy on the other side of the gate, that I got all frazzled, started barking, and jumped up on the couch.
But I only put my paws on the couch!
I’m innocent! It was all Nala’s fault — she started it.
I stood watching the door to see who would come in…
But no one did! Nala, finally calmed
down, and I stayed off the couch…
For the rest of the night. Well, at least
for the last 1/2 hour that everyone was out.

It’s not as close to the window as our other couch was… but the couch that daddy will be building will be right up next to it! I’m not gonna mention that it might not be the best idea though (think: run, jump, window… ). Heh.
