Sleeping Around

I heard somewhere that puppies like to sleep a lot – where did they get that information? I love to DO stuff, like all the time! Well, maybe not all the time. I do like to sleep sometimes, but I don’t favor any spot over another. I must get up and move at least 10 times during the night — would this be considered doggie insomnia? I mean I do sleep, but I just can’t sleep in one place all night. How do humans do it?

Sleeping AroundWhen I was just a little puppy, my house was so new to me that I wasn’t really comfortable anywhere. So I’d end up sleeping all over to try and find that one spot that felt just right. I slept on the carpet next to the couch, next to the chair, next to the wall unit (pic to the left), and even under desks. And I grew, I discovered even more places to rest my weary head.

Sleeping AroundI really enjoyed sleeping on Nala’s couch — now I understand why she loves it so much. Besides being so comfy, it’s near the window, which makes it really easy to just lift up our heads and look outside to see whenever we hear even the slightest noise. Another thing is, it’s right next to where my daddy sits, and if I feel like a hug I can just jump right over to his couch — I don’t even have to touch the floor! The only problem with me sleeping on Nala’s couch is, that I cannot stretch out like in the pic to the right — there’s no room for Nala when I do that!

Sleeping AroundSoon after I started sleeping on Nala’s couch, my mom and dad let me go on their big couch. Nala grew up not going on the big couch much because she sheds a lot, so they gave her her own couch. Pretty nice, huh? But since I don’t really shed, I’ve been allowed to go on the big couch. Funny though…ever since they let me go on the big couch, they’ve been letting Nala go on there too. But she doesn’t enjoy it as much as her own couch. Now we both have couches!

Sleeping AroundNow that I’ve grown up a little and have slept all over, I’ve discovered that I really enjoy sleeping on the floor where it’s dark — right outside the bedroom doors. I like to get as close as I can to the door, so I can go upside down…that’s really my favorite. Doggie nightmares — I don’t think so. 🙂
