I think of myself as a water puppy. Yep, the kind of puppy that can’t get drenched enough. The type of puppy that doesn’t want to come in when it’s raining. In the backyard, if you pick up the hose — I’m right there. I’ll want to drink the water, get wet, jump in it, and have a great time. Sometimes I wish I had the power to turn the hose on and off by myself. Why bother my family when I can entertain myself, right?
Well, this morning I went on a walk with my daddy — I love our walks because I get to see all sorts of interesting things. I especially love the dogs that have their heads sticking out of the car windows. Ahhh, riding in a car…I’m still working on that. Getting back to our walk…we went to the river again. Since daddy knows how much I love water, he took me far enough into the water so I could swim. My feet didn’t touch the bottom and I had to doggie paddle. What a weird feeling that is…to not be able to touch the ground.
I’ve been to the river a few times already, and still can’t figure out why I don’t get as excited about this water as I do about the water coming out of the hose in our backyard. I heard that the water in the river is more salty, but for some reason I don’t feel like drinking that water so I shouldn’t know the difference. It could be because there are boats going by and they make really big waves near the shore. Or maybe it’s that weird feeling I get from not being able to touch the ground…swimming. Whatever the reason, maybe it’s because I’m still a puppy and still need some time to get used to things. I guess I’ll keep trying, as long as my daddy keeps taking me on walks. <3
