Is it bad to keep secrets? I guess sometimes there’s a place for that. I’m just a puppy, so I’m just learning. If I steal something, like a sock, I run to show everyone what I’ve got. It’s a secret because no one knows until I tell them.
Secrets are good to keep if it’s something good (like a surprise party), and it doesn’t hurt anybody. If you know a secret that would hurt someone, you should tell your mommy, daddy, or another big person you can trust. They will tell you whether it’s a good idea to keep that secret.
Nala and I have a secret. I kinda just found out about it and told Nala. No one told us not to tell anyone, so I guess I could tell you. But just in case, let’s not tell anyone else, OK?
I saw mommy working on something the other day, but she didn’t show me what it was. It was on really, really big paper, and she sat there in front of it for a long time. I tried to get a look at it when she took a break, but it was too high up on the table to see.
When mommy started working again, I sat at the window, looking like I wasn’t interested in what she was doing. But really, I was tricking her. Doesn’t it look like I’m interested in what’s going on outside? Well, I tricked you too! I just pretended to look outside. What I was really doing, was turning around to see if I could see what mommy was doing. Whenever she walked away from the paper, I ran over to see if I could see what it was.

I was not having any luck, until mommy left the room one time. I quickly snapped these photos, and oh my! That’s me! And that’s Nala! Mommy’s drawing us! These photos are really small, and I was only able to take a picture of our faces, but I know there’s gonna be lots more to the picture when mommy is done drawing it. (Check my About page for the finished pictures!)
I heard mommy talking to daddy and my human sister — turns out these are going to be large pictures that will hang on the wall above mommy’s and my sister’s desks. Another thing I learned, is that there are quite a lot of mommy’s and my sister’s paintings hung all over the house. I wish someone would give me some paint — I would love to add to the collection of artwork! I’m going to work on that idea. 😉
I learned something else today, but it’s not a secret. The crushed ice setting on our refrigerator’s ice maker, is broken. I’m really sad about this, because I used to love having crushed ice in my water bowl. Mommy’s afraid to give me whole ice cubes (daddy isn’t), so I don’t get too many anymore. Sigh.
Woofs & hugs!
