Puppies need lots of sleep. I’m still a puppy, even though I’m gonna be 10 months old in 6 days. But I’m sure growing up fast!
I’m not as tired as much as I used to be. I don’t sleep as late in the mornings, and since I don’t get as tired, I can stay up later at night. Mommy loves this.
I’ve also lost all my baby teeth — at least my mommy thinks so. I haven’t lost a tooth in months. My friend Tanner’s mom kept a few of his baby teeth. My mommy kept whatever teeth she could (before I ate them).
Wanna see a picture of my baby teeth?

Mommy says they’re sharp, but cute. π
So as you can see, my teeth have changed. But one thing that hasn’t changed, is my love of TOYS! You can’t go wrong with a good toy (well, you can’t go wrong with a bad toy either… you just might not be able to play with it for as long). π
Mommy went to the store with MT yesterday, and brought home some goodies!
Toy #1: Flying Saucer, from Pet Supermarket
First up, we have a pink girlie flying saucer. MT picked it out. She said it’s a must-have toy. It’s round, plastic, says “Pet Supermarket” on it, and you don’t even have to throw it to have fun with it. π

Nala sniffed it but left it alone. I guess flying saucers
aren’t easy to play with when you live in a cone.

I on the other hand, took it and ran!

MT managed to get it back, and threw it to me a few times…

before it met its demise. RIP girlie flying saucer.
The Good Stuff:
- Flying saucers are fun! Fun to catch, fun to hold, and fun to chew.
- It brings families together. I don’t know any doggie that can actually throw a flying saucer. Do you? This is where we need humans. π
- They test your skills in jumping and running.
- Did I say it was fun? π
The Not-So-Good Stuff:
The only thing that I could see that’s wrong with a flying saucer, is that it’s made of plastic! It’s way too easy for us puppies with strong teeth to chew!
MT didn’t want to get one of the durable flying saucers — we already have one of those. She wanted a traditional flying saucer, and so that’s what we got. π
My conclusion? These toys are great for those doggies that can exercise control and not chew on it. Plastic is not good for a doggie’s tummy.
Luckily for me, mommy noticed the damage and took it away before I could eat any part of it.
Toy #2: Bow Wow Beanies Weenie Dachshund Plush Dog Toy from Ty
Ty doggie toys are AWESOME! I wrote about them previously here.
Nala doesn’t really play with toys much anymore… well, except when I’m not around. And usually she doesn’t play with them for long. She really just likes to play keep-away. Once there’s no human involved, she drops all toys.
Whenever mommy buys a toy for me, she gets one for Nala… ’cause Nala LOVES receiving new toys! Since she doesn’t play with them long, mommy picks them up off the floor when she’s done so I don’t get a chance to claim it as mine. Remember, everything’s mine. π
But when mommy went shopping yesterday, she did not get a new toy for Nala. Shhhhh! This is between me and you. What Nala doesn’t know, won’t hurt her. Mommy took out a Ty Bow Wow Beanie that she had gotten Nala on another store trip, and gave her that one.
I think Nala was fooled — mommy made it look like it came out of the bag with my new toys!

Nala didn’t mind though. She loved her doggie. Again.
The Good Stuff:
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Ty Bow Wow Beanie Doggie Toys can withstand a lot of chewing. I’ve only ripped one, and we have 3.
- They crinkle, like a water bottle. LOVE this sound!
- They squeak. LOVE squeaking!
- They’re small and cuuuute!
- Pretty durable for rough play. Just don’t let doggies sit and chew on them. π
The Not-So-Good Stuff:
- Little kids and Ty collectors may try and steal them away.
- Not good for doggies who sit and enjoy a chew toy. ‘Cause they’re not chew toys.
Toy #3: Chuckit! Ultra Ball from Canine Hardware

Soft, plastic Chuckit! Ultra Ball.

Easy to hold, and pick up. Great to use while running away!

This ball bounces really HIGH!
The Good Stuff:
- Did I mention that this ball bounces really high?
- It’s lots of fun to hold in my mouth, and RUN!
- It’s not too hard, and not too soft. It’s juuust right. π
- It gets the family involved in family play! π
The Not-So-Good Stuff:
- If you bounce the ball up high when it’s sunny, you might not see it until it comes back down! (hopefully not on your head!)
- Like any ball, it can get lost easily. I’ve already lost this one a few times already!
- Dirt sticks to it.
- There’s NO squeaker! π
My conclusion? This ball is lots of fun, for both doggies and humans! I love playing with balls, but some doggies, like Nala, may not. You should try though — you never know what doggies are gonna like!
Toy #4: Squeak Funble Football from J.W. Pet Company, Inc.

Smells like rubber!
When I first saw this toy, I was a little overwhelmed at how big it was. Well, only for a few seconds. I had to figure out how to grab hold of it!

Mommy & I played with this toy for a long time.
It tuckered me out!

Did I tell you this toy is MINE? And because it’s
mine, I decided I wanted to play some more!

I love resting with my football. Maybe I should pick out a favorite team?

I don’t think Nala liked my football touching her.

MY football. <3

How did this hole get here? And this one? And that one?
RIP Squeak Funble Football. π
This toy lasted a couple of hours. It would have been gone sooner, but mommy didn’t know I was chewing it. I was a secret chewer!
The Good Stuff:
- I LOVE the extra loud, alien-sounding squeak! It makes my family feel like they are not alone. I also love the sound.
- Love to chase it after someone throws it.
- It gets the family involved in family-play.
The Not-So-Good Stuff:
- Rubber is not indestructible.
- Not a chew toy.
- Not easy for doggies to carry in their mouths — it keeps dropping!
My conclusion? This is a pretty good toy. I would not recommend it for those doggies that like to chew (like me).
Toy #5: Wubba Ballistic Squeaking Dog Toy from Kong

Look at my new Lion Wubba!

It’s MINE!

This toy is great for shaking and tossing!
The Good Stuff:
- I love, love, LOVE, swinging my Lion Wubba back and forth!
- Made by the Kong company, who also makes the Kongs that mommy puts cream cheese in for mine and Nala’s snacks!
- Nice, bright colors make it easy to spot in the grass!
- I love all the legs! Hmmm… which one should I chew on now?
- Fun, self-play!
The Not-So-Good Stuff:
- Though it’s made of heavy nylon, it is not indestructible.
- Swinging a Wubba could easily hurt another doggie or human.
- Not good as a chew toy.
My conclusion? I really like the Wubba, but as you can see from the following photo, I liked it a little too much. I don’t know what’s inside the orange nylon, and I’m sure mommy doesn’t want me to find out. Always look over doggie toys to see if there are any rips, pulls, holes, or any stuffing hanging out (take them away from doggies if there are).

I’ve already chewed a hole in my lion, and ripped one of his legs. π
Woofs & hugs,
~Bailey
I have no association with any of the companies mentioned in the above reviews. Mommy paid for each of these toys with her own money. My puppy opinions are my own.

Ahhhh!!! I love the puppy teeth photo! We kept all of Gus’s too!
I forgot to add…thanks for the great toy reviews! It’s always nice to hear how other doggers like them…and how they held up after a play session!
Awww, you’re very welcome! I play with LOTS of toys, so I thought it would be nice to share my puppy thoughts with everyone! Glad you’re enjoying them! π
Isn’t it great to look at your puppy teeth? Poor Nala doesn’t have any of her teeth. I guess mommy didn’t follow her around as much to find them all! π
I LOOOVE my Wubbas! I have a water wubba, a tiger striped wubba, a fuzzy bunny wubba, etc. They’re awesome! And my frisbees, well, mom says they look like they went through a garbage disposal! Hey, did you think about trying to ring Nala’s collar with one! BOL!!
Wow! You have so many Wubbas?! I need to talk to my mommy to see if I can get my Lion back (right now it’s sitting on the table with a couple of small holes in it). Maybe I can convince her to let me have it for a little while longer… until I make a few more holes. I really enjoy my Wubba. π
ROFL!! I don’t think Nala will let me come that close to her with the frisbee! haha
Interesting toy reviews, Bailey! You looked so incredibly cute swinging & smacking yourself with that wubba toy. We had one of those before & it sure didn’t last in the jaws of River & Megan! NO dog toys in this world is & will ever be indestructible.
OOOH look at all those puppy teefies! You should totally put them under your pillow at night so that to tooth fairy will come & exchange them with some treats. 8 teefies = 8 treats!!!
Awww, TY!
Hmmm, put my teeth under my pillow for treats?! Wowserz! I need to go find where mommy hides my teeth! π
Ive never been able to keep any puppy teeth!

Oh no!! Did you ever think that maybe… your doggies put them under their pillows before you had a chance to find them?! Hmmmm… π
Wow! You left a lot of teeth for your mommy to find! And it looks like you got a lot of neat toys for them too! Hope you have as much fun with yours as I am having with mine.
Puppy Kisses,
Tanner
Haha! Mommy told me to tell you, that she managed to save that many teeth by putting her hand in my mouth and/or grabbing the tooth just as it hit the floor! Many times I would play with the tooth when it felt loose in my mouth, so mommy knew ahead of time before it would fall out… and she was prepared! π
I’m enjoying my ball — the other toys have sadly gone away. But they were lots of fun while they lasted! π
