Look What the Rain Brought

It’s funny all the little things that come out when it rains… but there are some things that get left inside…

We got a lot of rain two days ago… a historic day when a little mockingbird ruled over a gray Bully Cat. It rained a lot.

While it was raining, there was something left on the floor in our kitchen. I don’t usually find bags laying around in the house, so I was very curious. Do you ever find bags like this in your house?

Look What the Rain Brought
Hmmm… we don’t get too many bags like this on the floor.
It smells so… interesting.

Look What the Rain Brought
Whattttt? *winey voice*

Heh, after the rain stopped, my mommy took that bag of trash outside. Though I rather enjoyed looking at it while it was raining.

Later in the day, there were a couple of creatures that came out. One was a snail!

Look What the Rain Brought
This was the biggest snail that I’ve seen inside his shell.

Look What the Rain Brought
He moved so very sloooooow. I almost fell asleep watching him!

Look What the Rain Brought
He is cute though, in a snaily sort of way. Isn’t he?

Here’s a video of Mr. Snail… crawling along at a snail’s pace… how else did you think he moved? The rain had just stopped, but you could hear the sound of it still dripping off the roof of our house, and some birds singing. πŸ˜‰

After the rain, not only were there lots of snails, but there were lots of toads!

Look What the Rain Brought
Here’s one — Ribbit! Ribbit! I see you, little toad!

Look What the Rain Brought
I like to watch them go hop, hop, hop! πŸ™‚

I can look at toads, but I can’t touch them, ’cause some toads are dangerous to doggies. Not this one, but I wouldn’t know the difference, so I don’t get too close to any of them. Click here for more Ribbitttt!!

It was good that it rained so much the other day, ’cause we needed the water. Here’s what the sky looked like yesterday morning, after all the rain had stopped…

Look What the Rain Brought
Kinda pretty, isn’t it?

  1. Hey Bailey! Yes, those bags can be very interesting – beware you may get told off if you split one open to investigate though πŸ˜‰ We have snails and toads too – Louis is scared of the toads and jumps back a mile when they jump. Our human always starts jumping around too and telling us they’re poisonous to us – as IF we would want to lick THAT! Dex & Lou x

Haha at least I’m not the only one who’s encountered toads! It’s funny you mention that Louis jumps when the toads do… ’cause I do too (well, not a mile, but it scares me for a minute)! teehee!

      Woofs & hugs,

      ~Bailey

  2. We are so jealous of your rain. It has been a long time since we have had any here. You are right about those toads. Gus had a bad experience with a toad when he was younger. I think he learned his lesson though.

    • bailey says:

Oh no! I didn’t know Gus had trouble with a toad! I hope he didn’t get sick!

I will use my puppy prayers to send some rain your way! I hope it works! πŸ™‚

      Woofs & hugs,

  3. Bailey says:

We think we want to follow things that slither and hop and then we get scared and want Mom or Dad to intervene. Snakes in particular are not fun. We only have garter snakes, but they are still scary. Oddly Mom is just as scared as we are about them.

Now give us something with legs that runs and we are good. No squirrel goes unchallenged.

    • bailey says:

I LOVE squirrels! But they’re way too fast! By the time I notice them, they’ve climbed themselves up into a tree or on a telephone wire!

      Woofs & hugs,

      ~Bailey

  4. Hmmmm, were you bribed to not dig in the trash bag? You must have been very tempted. πŸ™‚

    • bailey says:

I think I was more curious than anything, but I sure was tempted! Mommy wasn’t too far away though, so I had to be good (I didn’t want to lose such a great view!).

BTW… congrats again on your hairball creation is in People Pets! πŸ˜‰

      Happy woofs & weekend hugs,

Surprise, surprise! We had rain again too last night! Check my blog to see what came out after the rain at my house!

OOOh, what a pretty rainbow! We have lots of those too, but we don’t get to see many until rainy season, which is right around the corner! πŸ™‚

Tee-hee… We love the picture where she is studying the trash bag – way too cute!

  8. Bailey is the cutest! It always cracks me up watching a pup try to follow a frog. They watch it hop, stare it down while it sits still, and then are startled and surprised when it jumps again! Enjoy your blog and looking forward to coming back to read about more of your adventures. : )

    • bailey says:

Awww, thank you so much! I enjoy reading your site as well — Miss Stella is one adorable puppy!

      Happy woofs & weekend hugs,

      ~Bailey

  9. EEEEEwwww snails – I don’t think I ever seen any – but Mom says that looks just like the ones they have back in her home of Australia. Trash is good too – especially when the folks put bones in there.

    • bailey says:

You’ve never seen a snail? I see lots where I live…especially after it rains. But this is the first time I saw one so close! πŸ™‚

      Happy woofs & weekend hugs,

      ~Bailey
