Is it every day that a girl can get her hair done and her toenails trimmed? I think so! My mommy says that hygiene is very important for us doggies, so she brushes Nala and me a lot, and makes sure our toes aren’t so long that they’re hitting the floor when we walk.
Yesterday, after we hung MT’s mirror in her room, I got a good look at myself. Mommy brushes me quite often, and it definitely looked like it was time again.

Just look at those knots! It was time to get my hair done.
Mommy always takes me outside to brush me. I’m quite a
shedder, so it took a while to get all those loose ends out.
When she starts brushing, it feels funny. But after I realize
that it’s only my hairbrush, it actually feels kinda good. π
“Don’t forget this part, mommy. It’s the fluffiest part.”
After mommy got through brushing this end, there was a huge pile of fur!
I love my fur — it’s so soft!
I also love to eat it, heh… but mommy doesn’t like when I do that. π
See? This is the pile of fur I was talking about. This isn’t even all of it…
mommy had to throw out some, after I tried to eat it. Teehee!
Nala hates to be brushed, so mommy doesn’t do it for a long time.
She doesn’t even really care about her fur.
She just can’t wait for mommy to finish.
Now for the toenails! PediPawsTM Review
Mommy saw this product on television a few years ago, way before I was born. She said she’s heard good and bad things about this product, but she needed to find another way to trim Nala’s nails so she was very interested. Instead of ordering PediPaws from the ad on television or from the company’s website, she bought it at a local drugstore. By the way… if you’re interested in buying this, don’t buy it online where it’s as much as $19.99 + shipping. Mommy said she saw it at Bed, Bath & Beyond today for $9.99.

PediPawsTM, from TeleBrands.
She used to bring Nala to the groomers to have her fur & toenails trimmed, but it became a bit expensive. So mommy bought a trimmer and eventually Pedi PawsTM. She used to use a toenail trimmer, but she was always afraid that she would cut down too far. And because of that, most of the time she didn’t cut far enough.
Since Nala gets stressed easily, when mommy saw PediPawsTM in the drugstore a few years ago, she thought she would try it.
Look below for the Good Stuff vs. the Bad Stuff…

Mommy’s used PediPawsTM on Nala before today, but I’ve never
really watched her do it. Today I sat really close and watched
the strange-looking contraption, to see exactly how it worked.
As usual, Nala wasn’t too enthusiastic about getting her nails done.
She has to lay down so mommy can hold one nail at a time, on each paw.
Mommy puts one toenail into the orange end, and turns it on.
It makes a really strange sound.
Even though mommy isn’t using a nail clipper, she still has to be careful
not to file down too much. See how round it can get? I can tell that
Mommy’s been doing this for a while.
The sander-like tool makes a lot of nail dust.
Yummy! I get to help clean it off Nala’s toes!
Who knew trimming toenails could be so tasty. Teehee!
The kit comes with a battery operated rotary nail trimmer, and three extra heads.
According to the box, this tool “won’t crack, splinter or break nails.”
You can also purchase replacement heads.
So how do we look after our day of beauty? Nala’s showing off to look especially cute, but I think I have natural cuteness. π
The Good Stuff:
- This nail trimmer makes it easy to trim nails.
- Depending on how often you use it, the replaceable heads can last a long time.
- It’s good for dogs & cats of all sizes.
- The box says, “your pet will love you for it,” but don’t worry… your pet will love you whether you use this nail trimmer or not. π
The Not-So-Good Stuff:
- It does take some time getting used to. Mommy said that she has a lot of experience using it, but she still has to be careful not to file too much. She also has to make sure fur doesn’t get caught inside.
- Even though the box says, “the protective cap catches the filings, so there is no mess,” it certainly can get pretty messy with the nail dust. (see above photos)
- Doggies & kitties might be scared of the sound when it’s turned on.
- It’s battery operated, so you will need to replace the 2 “C” batteries when they wear out.
- It’s not as easy as it looks to change the replaceable heads.
My conclusion?
Watching mommy file Nala’s nails definitely made me think this product was well worth it. Nala was very calm while she layed there, but I’m sure she’s very used to it. When mommy tried to put the trimmer to my toenails… well let’s just say that there was no way that was gonna happen.
The entire process took less than 15 minutes for all the nails on Nala’s toes to be done! It probably would have gotten done in less time, but mommy had to play with the camera. π
Woofs & hugs,
~Bailey

I have no association with the company mentioned in the above review. Mommy paid for this product with her own money. My puppy opinions are my own.

Bailey, you looked pretty comfortable getting brushed. I’m sure you looked fantastic when you were finished! Gus doesn’t like to get brushed, but every once in awhile we will catch him enjoying it. We’ve always wondered how Pedi Paws worked. Glad to hear Nala likes it.
I LOVE being brushed, so does Puff and YoYoMa…not so much for Quinn and Nuka (probably because of all her skin papillomas) HATES it! Quinn and I also go to the spa.
You guys look wonderful!
Momma appreciates your review, she is trying to find a way to clip Nuka’s nails and this sounds like it might be worth a try!
I think you gals look boo-ti-ful!!! and super cute too! A well groomed puppy is a happy puppy.
Not real sure about that “Pedi” thing. I’m sort of like Nala about noises. I think Mommy and I will stick to my monthly groomers appointment for now. But I am really glad that it works so well for Miss Nala.

Tanner
We have one of those or something similar. But Jan is afraid to try it.
Hi Bailey,
You are both looking great – have you got a party to go to? π
I love being brushed too, last week Mum did a mega grooming session on me for 2 hours, yep, I was on the table and I was REALLY good, I like being groomed, just don’t like it if Mum finds any knots!! Mum uses a plastic bag to put the fur in, then she says she’s got a new puppy in the bag when she’s done!?
Mum got one of those nail things for me when I was a little puppy, I didn’t like the sound, we tried it a couple of times but once we started running Mum discovered that my nails don’t even need trimming, she checks them, but so far I haven’t had to re-visit the noisy trimmer, phew!
Have a fun day,
Your pal Snoopy π
Wowserz, Snoopy… grooming for 2 hours? I couldn’t imagine!!
My mommy puts my fur in a plastic bag too, but she doesn’t say she has a new puppy. teehee!
I know what you mean about running… I run lots, which is probably why I haven’t had to have my nails trimmed. Nala isn’t into running, so she needs hers trimmed. π
Woofs & hugs,
~Bailey
We still go out for our pawdicures. Katy does her princess act after having them done.
Great job on reporting your beauty treatments, like Sugar my Mom uses a mini dremil (saves on batteries as it’s rechargeable). You both looked wonderful.
Thank you. π My mommy heard about using a dremel, but not until after she had already bought the PediPaws. Of course, it was daddy who told her. π It would probably be easier to use that than the PediPaws, but I won’t tell mommy… it’ll make her think she doesn’t know what she’s doing. Teehee!
Woof! Woof! I LOVE being brushed (mom does it everyday). My dad takes care of my nails. Mom wanted to buy PediPaws but dad is old school he uses a mini dremil which many still prefers. Great Review. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
No wonder you guys look so good. We let mom clip our nails. We are scared of that thing
