This week’s been filled with storms, fireworks, and reviews. I want to get away from all of that for today.
~ Mommy’s Art: My mommy’s been kinda busy finishing an overdue special project. It’s an 8×10 drawing for a young woman whose kitty recently passed away. I’ll add the photo to mommy’s page when she finishes it.
~ Gallery Photos I will be adding more photos to a June-July & possibly-August gallery. I only had about 8 that I wanted to add to June’s album, so I thought I would wait until I had chosen a few more. I’ll let you know when pics have been added. π
~ Is daddy’s gonna finish the BIG THING today? Stay tuned!
~ Remember how big the mangoes on our tree were back in May? Here’s how big they were:

Well here’s one that just fell from the tree this weekend! It’s H U G E ! I’m glad I wasn’t standing under the tree when it fell!

~ Our gift packages of Freeze-dried Treats we received from Terra Paws are almost gone! Can you believe it! I’m gonna have to bug mommy to buy some! If you haven’t seen my review of these treats, you can read it here. You can still get 20% off your order until the end of the month!
~ Nala’s and my Space Mission! Teehee! We really didn’t get to go into space this past Friday, but our pictures did! If you don’t know what we’re talking about, you can view this post that tells all about Your Face in Space. Our certificates won’t be ready for printing until July 20 — we’ll show you them when we receive them!
~ Worthy Website: I came across the Bissell page on Facebook recently. They’ve promised to donate 50 cents to the Petfinder.com Foundation for each valid registration they receive. If you have a moment, please visit Bissell on Facebook, and ‘like’ them, so they can help homeless pets. The Petfinder.com Foundation “helps homeless pets by saving lives through adoptions, helping shelters prepare for and recover from disaster and working to make shelters across the country more sustainable.”
~ A Borrowed Hat: My friends Benny and Lily over at Two French Bulldogs, have this thing every Tuesday called, “Ba-Da-Bing Tuesday,” where they answer questions that friends have asked all throughout the week.
Well, when I saw Benny in his stylish hat last week, I asked if I could borrow it. I had no idea he would really let me! Thanks Benny! π

Don’t I look like a detective?
~ Advice Needed on Static Issue: My mommy wants me to ask you if any of your doggies get all static when you pet them? I don’t seem to have a problem, but mommy and Taylor keep complaining that whenever they pet me, they get all shocky and stuff. Mommy’s even tried rubbing a fabric softener sheet over me! Can you imagine?! I would love to hear some tips on what I can do to make my fur not so staticky (is that how you spell it?) — I’ve had enough of smelling baby soft.
~ Advice Needed on Backyard Ants: Yep, there are these small red ants that have taken up residence in a couple of piles on one side of our yard, and I’m not happy about it ’cause mommy won’t let me or Nala run over there behind the pool until they’re gone! Mommy took a picture of them and brought it to the store to find out what to do to get rid of them. Before that, she’s tried lots of stuffz, like bug sprays, rice, boiling water, cornmeal, etc.
The man at the store said the ants are called, Pharoah ants. He gave her a package of granules and said it would kill them. But here we are 4 days later and I’m still not allowed to go behind the pool because the ants are still there! Does anyone have any advice for a doggie who’s missing her entire yard? See below for a picture of one of the ant piles:

~ My friend Sugar, the Golden Retriever is in a contest and could use your help! From July 5-19, 2011, there’s an online voting for the “People’s Choice.” The winner will be featured on Maui Humane Society’s January 2012 Calendar Page. You can vote for my friend, Sugar as many as you like, as often as you like, for as much as you like. It’s for a really good cause! Your vote(s) ($1/each) will be greatly appreciated and it will be a tremendous help to maintain the facility of Maui Humane Society. You can read more about it on Sugar’s website. Thank you, friends!
~ Enter for the chance to win a $500 American Express Gift Card from Petcentric, by Purina. They hold monthly contests where you can win stuff! Head over and enter this month’s contest — it’s over August 1. π
~ Have you entered the Summer Photo Competition run by our friends over at Schnauzer Daze — you have until the end of the month! We entered! π
~ Please take a look at my Missing Pets page and see if you can repost these missing doggies to your website, your Facebook, etc. Let’s try and bring these doggies home!
Happy Sunday woofs & hugs!

For the word verification below: If you are on a computer (desktop or laptop), all you have to do is drag the image that it tells you to, from the left to the right image. If you are using anything other than a computer (like an iPad, iPhone, or other mobile device), you just need to click on the correct matching image on the left (it will tell you). The image will then automatically appear over the image on the right. Don’t forget I have to personally approve your comment, so it won’t show up right away. π

What a great hat. You guys are so busy.
What a fantastic post!!! All kinds of terrific things! I love Bailey Be Good in the hat….maybe I could hire him as my detective!!! Holly has static in her fur all of the time and in the winter it’s really bad. I have tried the static sheets too with no luck! Have a wonderful evening…what’s left of it and a great Monday! Lots of love, Debbie & Holly
Those mangoes look fantastic! I hope your mum shares them with you and Nala! π
I can’t think of anything for the ant problem, or for the static issue! Sorry! Hope you get some answers soon.
Smokin’ cool Hat. the Felix gets static too. We have an ionic brush that the Mama uses n him and every week or so, she spritzes him with a white vinegar/water mix (heavily dosed with vanilla extract to cover the vinegar smell). Vinegar is an anti-static remedy! the Mama is one of those frou-frou’s who won’t use dryer sheets anymore due to the large number of known carcinogens that they contain. (PS – your CAPTCHA image today is extra – disturbing! Drag the KNIFE to the BATHROOM? What is this? A slasher movie??)
Ooh, mommy says she’s gonna find something better to use for my static. Good thing she only tried the sheets a couple of times! And Taylor says she agrees with you about the slasher movie! BOL
Just wanted to let everyone know that I can’t access a computer as often as I usually can. Something BIG going on today! Mommy let me use her phone to type this message (thanks mommy!)
Hope to visit with you all very soon!
Woofs and hugs,
~Bailey (Yep, I’m a girl!)
I will try this again………. This is my second try…………. I was typing away and all of a sudden your page just went a way……………
I love your Mangoes!!!!!!!! I love them and hardly ever can find a ripe one at the stores.
I had a Shepherd once “Bruce” and his fur would shock me in the winter time.
Never in the summer tho.
Thanks for you visit!!
xx, Fern
Fern, so sorry my page went away! No idea why that happened. π
I wish I could send you some mangoes — we have plenty of them to share!!
Woods & hugs,
~Bailey
Hi Y’all,
We have fire ants here and have to have everything sprayed twice a year and using special baits in areas the sprayers cannot reach. While they are nasty and hard to control, Pharoah ants are far worse.
Here are two web sites for further information. Be sure to read the part about using bait.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pharaoh_ant
http://www.antcontrols.com/pick-phar.htm
Y’all let us know how it’s going. Sounds like it’s going to be slow gettin’ rid of those ants.
Y’all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
WOW that’s a lot of stuff in just one post! Those mangoes look super delish. Hoomie Melissa loves mangoes. I bet those ones taste very nice! Will you pups be getting any of those good stuff?
Melissa is the type of person that gets shocked all the time but it is usually with metal stuff only particularly with trollies at supermarkets. She has developed phobia with those things! Those trollies electricity shock are very painful & it even makes a loud zap sound! I think you can get anti-static conditioning sprays at pet shops. Spray all over the body everyday. Hopefully with some moisture on your coat, that will prevent static shocks.
