This post continues my family’s trip this past Friday, without Nala and me. Even if we really didn’t get to go, we were there… kinda. 😉
If you haven’t yet, you can read Part 1.
My family was now hours away from Nala and me. My mommy was very upset and couldn’t really enjoy herself until she heard from my doctor again. It took a few hours, but my temperature had started to come down. The doctor told my mommy that a normal doggie temperature is between 100.5°F and 102.5°F/103°F. He said that a temperature over 104°F is very serious. When I was first checked in, I had a temperature of 106. He told mommy that he would do a CBC if my temperature didn’t go down, to see if there was anything else going on. My mommy told the doctor that she thinks I made myself sick from the whole boarding situation (well I was fine before I found out they were leaving me). Mommy called my doctor often to find out how I was doing.
It was really hard for mommy to leave me for the first time. In fact, she was surprised at how much she worried about me. She worried so much, that she found a way for Nala and me to go with them on their trip. Here’s what she did…
For a long time, my mommy has been taking photos and making them into carry-along photos like Flat Stanleys. Remember when I said that Nala and I didn’t go with our family on their trip? Well, my mommy made Nala and me into Flat Bailey and Flat Nala, and she carried us along in her backpack! Teehee!

These are just a few of the Flats that mommy has.
They’re some of her past pets. She even made these into magnets!

Now Nala and I have been added to the Flat family!
Here we are as Flat Bailey and Flat Nala, also known as Flat B&N.

Flat B&N were very excited to go to Universal!

Flat B&N in front of Rip, Ride, Rockit. Taylor, her friend, and daddy
went on this! Mommy doesn’t do upside down roller coasters. She went
on one once, and that was enough for her!

This ride goes upside down and has lots of loops!

Flat B&N had to rest after watching the coaster go upside down a few times!

Mommy, daddy, Taylor and her friend went on the Mummy.
This coaster doesn’t go upside down, but it does go backwards!

Soon it was time for lunch! Taylor cooled down Flat B&N with a fan.
(Similar to how my doctor cooled me down at Boarding Camp.)

Here are Flat B&N in front of a pretend pet store.

Flat B&N taking time to smell the flowers.

Flat B&N thought of George’s Saturday steps when this picture
was taken. The steps are in Universal Studio’s NYC set.

This is Doctor Doom’s Fear Fall — Taylor and her friend went on this.

We found more doggie-themed stuff. Here’s Flat B&N in front of Heathcliff’s bone.

And here’s Marmaduke!

Here’s a view from just inside the one place my family was anxious to see!
Remember just recently when I told you how much my family loves everything to do with Harry Potter? Well, this next area in Islands of Adventure has been on my family’s list of wanna-go-there places ever since they announced it’s creation. It’s the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and Flat B&N got to go too!

Flat B&N in front of the castle. Inside the castle is the Forbidden Journey
ride, which my family went on. They said it was amazzzzing!

This is a closer view of the castle — they’re almost up to the entrance.

They’re almost inside!

Even the silhouettes of the castle are awesome to look at!

This is one of the inside rooms — talking and moving paintings fill the walls.

There were so many!

A few rooms contained holograms of the Harry Potter characters.
This classroom is Defense Against the Dark Arts.

At the end of this room, it started snowing!
Snow stuff got in everyone’s hair. Teehee!

The Fat Lady guards the entrance to Gryffindor Tower at Hogwarts Castle.

Here are Flat B&N catching a ride on Taylor’s shoulder!
My family walked around Harry Potter World, all the time continuing to keep in touch with my doctor. By the afternoon, my temperature had gone down, and they moved me back to my cage. My mommy had scheduled me to have some play time out of my cage, but since I was so sick they decided to skip that — they didn’t want me to get overexcited and overheated. All I wanted was my family to come home. I missed them, and I missed Nala.
By late afternoon I was doing much better, and mommy received a couple of pictures of Nala and me from Christine.

Here’s me on a walk at Boarding Camp.
I was sad here, but at least I was feeling better.

Nala was doing well — everyone calls her a sweet baby.
No wonder one of her tags says, “Sweetest baby in the world.”

Phew Bailey,
I’m happy to hear you got better! 🙂
I love the little versions of you and Nala, so even if you can’t go for real you still get to appear in the great pics your Mum took!
I bet they were back before you knew it and you got lots of spoiling on your vacation too! 🙂
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
Flat Bailey and Nala look like they had lots of fun! Wish real Bailey had not been so sick and miserable. I know I would feel awful without my humans, too! Glad everyone is home and back together.
I’m so glad to hear that you are doing better now Bailey, I was worrying about you too. Hey, it looks like a fantastic trip they are having though, especially with the flats along!
We are so glad you are better Bailey! Being boarded at first is scary. We love the pictures and love the flat ones of both of you…that is cool!!! Lots of love, Debbie & Holly
I hope you’re feeling all better now, Bailey!! Those flats are absolutely awesome 🙂
Aw, that’s so sad. But you had an adventure at boarding and next time you’ll do better. And Flat B&N got to go with them so you were sort of there. We hope you have totally recovered from your scare. Your mom wouldn’t desert you.
Glad you’re feeling better! And at least your flatter versions had a great time!!!
That must have been very scary for your Mom knowing that you were sick and that she couldn’t be there with you. You know how Moms can be. We are glad you had such a good vet to help you feel better.
The Flat B & N sure did get to have a fun vacation – thanks for sharing all the fun. Mom hopes to get to the Harry Potter park next year. She doesn’t do upside down either:)
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
Wow – the flat you’s are having a pawsome time – you just have to learn to ‘channel’ the flat you’s and you will be having a great time too
We are so sorry it was so tough for you Bailey. When we have to stay at the kennel it is at our vet’s so Mom and Dad know even though we hate it we have medical care. We love doggy daycare and we never have to use cages there so it is much less stressful.
We like the idea of flat Bailey and Nala. Mama sends Flat Stanley photographs to one of her younger relatives. She likes the idea of flat Bailey and Katy.
Hi Bailey and Nala! We’re finally catching up with everyone now the Momsters back – we are so sorry to hear you were poorly, and hope you are feeeling much better now. The photo’s are brilliant, we love the flatties idea, they are just great!! Dex and Lou xxx
Ah Bailey,
So sorry you were sick and so sorry that your mom had to worry about you while she was on vacation. But it sounds like you have a wonderful vet who kept a good eye on you.
I like all the pictures of places you sort of got to go to.
Relax girl, they will be home before you know it.
Love
Bert
