The Big Thing is Here (& New Award)

Remember my last post about The Big Thing? Well, it’s finally HERE!

Scroll down for a new award we won!

I’m excited, but I’m nervous too! They said it was gonna take 3 days!

Last night my daddy and mommy cleaned out almost EVERYTHING from the living room, dining room, kitchen and hallways. The rooms echoed when I barked, because it was so empty! They even took out the refrigerator, the stove, and the dishwasher, and put them on the patio. It’s a good thing they have a refrigerator in the garage, or they wouldn’t have a place to put all the food. Since they can’t cook, I guess they’re gonna have take-out for the next few days.

Today some strange men are gonna come to our house (they’ll be disguised as “installation people”), and they’re gonna lay out tile on half of the floor. They’re gonna leave a walkway for everyone to walk on, since we’re not supposed to walk on the new tile for about 24 hours. Even Nala and I can’t walk on the new tile! Daddy took off the whole week so he could carry me outside to go potty! Mommy can carry Nala since she doesn’t weigh as much.

Tomorrow, they’re gonna lay tile on the second part of the floor. I think they’re also gonna grout the first half.

On Thursday, they’re gonna grout the second half. It’s gonna be very frustrating for everyone, since we’re gonna have to spend a lot of time in the bedrooms.

Another thing that’s gonna change, is that daddy is throwing out the big couch! You know, the one with the huge hole in the bottom. The one that stole a few of my bones and toys. The big, evil couch. Yeah, that one.

Daddy said he’s gonna strip down Nala’s and my love seat, and use the base to create a new bed for both of us near the window. I can’t wait.

I also can’t wait for Friday — that’s when The Big Thing will finally be over!!

This week I scheduled posts, and I probably won’t be able to visit many of you. πŸ™

The Big Thing is Here
They took all the furniture away again, Nala.
This can’t be good.

The Big Thing is Here
Wish us luck… we’re gonna need it!

A New Award…

Bright Flashes in the Sky Award

Yesterday I was happy to receive a new award from Talking Dogs Blog, a wonderful site where I keep up with the latest puppy mill and doggie protection news, doggie song videos, and so much more. If you have a moment, please do visit them! I am so honored to receive this award from you, so thank you so very much!

This award is called, “Premio Destellos Brillantes en el Cielo Azul,” which when translated with a little help from Google, means, “Bright Flashes in the Blue Sky Award.” Isn’t that a pretty name for an award?

There are a few requirements for accepting this award:

  • Winners must post the award with rules on their blog.
  • Winners must include a link to the person who gave them the award.
  • Winners need to nominate 6 blogs for the award.
  • Winners must leave a message on those 6 blogs to let them know they’ve won.
  • Winners must describe what they dream or wish for most in the world.

It’s always so difficult to narrow down a huge list of wonderful bloggies, to a small number like 6. I always feel so guilty for not including one blog over another, because truly, every blog that I follow is worthy in one way or another. But, since it’s required, I’ll do my best to try and limit the hundreds of blogs down to um.. how about if I do 14 (14 is as good a number as 6, isn’t it)? Besides, I’ve never been good at following the rules. πŸ˜‰

1. Holly Wags
2. Life at Golden Pines
3. Chronicle of Woos
4. Bert’s Blog
5. White Dog Diary Online
6. RA Husky
7. Five Sibes
8. Brian’s Home
9. Urban Hounds
10. Two French Bulldogs
11. Snoopy’s Dog Blog
12. Pip Gets Back in the Game
13. My Brown Newfies
14. Pet Blogs United

I know some of you don’t display awards, and that’s OK. It really is the thought that counts, right? πŸ™‚

If your name hasn’t appeared above, please forgive me. I could have kept the list going, as you could see. All of my friends are definitely worthy of this award. <3 Now, my dream or wish for the world... How can I possibly narrow this down to just ONE? It simply cannot be done. But a few things would be... no more homeless people & animals, no more abuse, no more senseless deaths, no more accidents, and a whole lot more LOVE. <3 By the way… if you’re a blogger, you won’t want to miss tomorrow’s post. πŸ™‚

Happy Tuesday woofs & hugs, friends! <3 ~Bailey (Yep, I'm a girl) P.S… If you’re a human who blogs about your furry, or a furry who blogs about your human… or even a furry who blogs about your life… I invite you to follow me via Google Friend Connect (see box in the right-hand column –>), and join me on Facebook. Please let me know you’ve visited — I love reading other blogs and making new friends. <3

Oh, I love that you expanded the list to more than 6! That is the only problem with these award thingies…

Loved that photo and caption about the furniture being taken away!

  4. Bailey, Congratulations on the award and thanks so very much for sharing it with us!! We love it!! It sounds like you are all having a time with the Big Thing going on and things like good couches being thrown away! We have a couch (actually it’s Holly’s couch) that is a very big couch but someone chewed the entire bottom cushion a long time ago and although there is no proof on who did it, Holly was the only one in the room looking happy!! That’s why it’s now her official bed!! Your wish is a wonderful one!! Lots of love, Debbie & Holly

Amen, sister! Your wish is beautiful and one that we join you in making. What a lovely award and we thank you for passing it on to us…we WILL share it but in a few days after momma has her computer back (the work around is too slow to handle graphics).

Good luck with the disruption of the installers. The week may be rough but we know everything will be simply wonderful by Friday.

  6. Anna the GSD says:

Oh, I remember when mom and dad had a big thing and we got all new floors! I don’t think I’ve ever seen mom so happy!! Mom says hopefully we’ll have a new couch by Christmas too…one big enough for ALL of us!

  7. Kirsten says:

Congrats on the award! The title brought me a little bright flash of joy myself–amazing the power of language to do that!

Bright flashes and blue skies to you all–

  8. Congrats on the award!! I’m going to also check out those blogs you mentioned! Hope you adjust well to The Big Thing … it’s for the best! πŸ™‚

  10. Bailey says:

    Congrats on your award.

Good luck with all the updates. Glad the evil couch is going. While change can be hard, I suspect you will enjoy it when it is all done.

  11. Hey Bailey,

Congratulations, Bailey (and Nala) on the award and we are so touched that you shared it with us!!! We will certainly post it at a later date. Thanks again!!! Good luck with those “installation people.” We still have our “Mr. Contractor” here…and that was for just a deck (all summer long…however, to his credit, we did have severely hot weather, heavy rains, oh, and yes, a tropical). I know when the deck is done, it will be fun no matter what time of year, just as I’m sure having your floors – and even more so – your own bed made from your love nest, will be something to really look forward to!

  13. Bailey, thank you so much for sharing that special award with us. We aren’t going to be blogging for a while now, but we wanted to congratulate you on your award and thank you for selecting us to share it. That is a wonderful dream, hope one day it comes true.
