Dog Toy Review: Dogzilla! Birds

A couple of weeks ago, my mommy brought home a some new toys for Nala’s 13th birthday — two of them were Dogzilla birdies! Were they good toys? Check out the pictures and read my review below. 🙂

Look below for the Good Stuff vs. the Not-So-Good Stuff…

Dogzilla Birds, by Petmate

Dog Toy Review: Dogzilla! Birds
These are the 2 birdies that mommy brought home. I choose
the duckie with the orange feet. Nala got the other one.

Nala doesn’t play with many toys these days,
but she was pretty happy with this one.

I enjoyed my birdie too.

But I was thinking about Nala’s birdie.

She was guarding it with both eyes!

I ended up keeping my birdie, but after just a few minutes of
playing with it, my daddy noticed that the thread had opened up.
Mommy had to sew it in many places.

Nala’s birdie had no loose threads.

I liked playing catch with mine!

This toy is definitely, MINE!

The Good Stuff:

  • They’re birdies!
  • The beak & webbed feet are made of a sturdier material, and makes a crinkly noise when you squeeze or bite into it.
  • The body is made of a softer, felt-like material.
  • The head contains a squeaker, that sounds like a duckie!
  • The size is perfect to hold and to catch.
  • There are no loose parts — appears safe for doggies.

The Not-So-Good Stuff:

  • The seams are sewn OK for the most part, but the main body isn’t sewn as tight as it could be. My duckie came apart in about 4 places, after just catching it a couple of times. My mommy sewed it back up, and her stitches were stronger than the original stitches!
  • There are just 3 different kinds of birdies! Where’s the variety? *grin*

My conclusion?

This is a really fun toy! Nala and I both enjoyed playing with them. The stitching could be a bit stronger, but overall, it looks like this toy could last me a couple of weeks! Nala’s will last much longer, ’cause she will hardly play with it! Teehee!

Buy it!

If you’d like to your own Dogzilla Bird toy, you should check your local Walmart — that’s where my mommy bought them!

I’m still learning what my two pups like to play with. So far it is toys with squeakers and fuzzy fur. Thanks for reviewing these two toys…because Christmas time and ideas of gifts do come in handy.

Hmm…I’m a bit of an aggressive chewer. Birdie might not make it past five minutes. But it suuuuuure looks fun to play with. I once ripped up a toy while Mom was gone to the gas station and it looked like it had snowed in the house. Whoops! Looks like you are nicer to your toys.

  7. Thanks for the review, Bailey. Mom says not much is made very well any more. Even in human things the seams come apart. Thank dogness our Moms know how to sew. We think we might like some of those birdies too.

We have problems finding toys that hold p to our big mouths!! They come apart so easy!!

  9. Goose says:

They sure look like fun. Toys don’t last very long at my house. I chew, rip, pull, do about all I can to take em apart. But I LIKE doing that. I’ll have to send MOM to the store to see how fast I can get a beek or foot off. BOL>

  10. Hmmmm….nothing lasts longer than about 87 seconds in my house after brudder Max (DaOdderWeenie) gets hold of it!
