I never planned a post like this, but it was bound to happen. Mommy ran out of her favorite potty bags and had to buy another brand. Yikes!
I didn’t know there was any difference between potty bags. Why would I know? I don’t pick up the potty — I just put it down! But apparently, there is a HUGE difference between brands. *Sigh*
I usually post reviews a different way, but this one I decided to do a bit differently. Since there are 3 different potty bags, I’m just gonna share the good and bad about each one.

Left: OUT Poop Bag Bone Refill Rolls
Middle: Purina Pet Gear Scoop Bag Refill Rolls
Right: Purina Pet Gear Handle Tie Scoop Bags
Let’s start with the BEST bags…
When I was a little puppy, my mommy bought this bone-shaped baggie holder that holds a roll of potty bags inside. It attaches to my leash, so when we go walking, mommy always has a potty bag on hand.

These bags are more than 14″ long, and 8″ wide.
They cover your entire hand, and a lot of your forearm.

These bags are pretty large, and they hold a lot of poop!
The not-as-good bags…
When the store was out of the bags mommy always used (above), she ended up buying another brand…

These ‘Purina Pet Gear Scoop Bag Refill Rolls’ are
more than 12″ long and at least 8½″ wide. As you can
see, they don’t come up nearly as far as the first bags.

They’re just a little wider than the first bags.
The least favored potty bags…

These bags are almost 8½″ long, not counting the handle ties.
As you can see, it just about covers my mommy’s hand.

When closed, the bag is about 7″ wide. When open,
the width in the middle expands to about 9″.

If you didn’t know…when a bag doesn’t cover enough hand,
it leaves it open for accidents to happen. I won’t get into
details, but trust me… I know what I’m talking about. ๐

It didn’t take long to finish our review. I made my decision.
Let’s see which one Nala picked as her favorite…

There you go! Nala also chose the ‘OUT Poop Bag Bone Refill Rolls!’
Conclusion…
When she ran out of her favorite potty bags, my mommy had no choice but to use the small Purina Pet Gear Handle Tie Scoop Bags. She really didn’t want me to share this, but she’s actually had a few poop accidents while using them. Since the bag doesn’t cover much more than her hand, and the width is much larger than the other bags, it’s very easy for poop to fall out of the bag. There also isn’t enough bag to scoop up a pile of poop from larger doggies, like me.
Mommy won’t be buying these bags anymore.
Buy it!

Since our favorite online store did not have the standard blue OUT! bags, we listed rainbow and black colors instead. We also listed a different brand that we believe is similar to the bags we like.
- OUT! Waste Pick-Up Bags Refills, 120 Count
- OUT! Rainbow Waste Pick-Up Bags Refills, 120-Pack
- Bags on Board Regular Bag Refill Pack (similar bags, but they are only about 11½″ long)
You could also purchase our favorite bags direct from the distributor.

My mommy purchased these potty bags with her own money, so I could watch her pick up potty. Teehee! My puppy opinions are my own.

Hey Dude,
My Mum spends a lot of time comparing poop bags too?! She gets the refills too, so they will fit in the holder she’s got on my lead – she used to have the bone holder as well, but it was hard and hit her on the hand when she was running, so she was all happy when she found a softer one at Costco one time – me, I really don’t care about the clean up, that’s Mum’s area of specialty!! Tee Hee
Have fun,
Your pal snoopy ๐
Great review! Definitely need the longer bags for poop! It’s a dirty job but somebody had to do it! BOL!
Great review. We tried those ahndle tie ones and had the same (ugh) problem, even with little dogs to pick up after. We use the Bags on Board brand and they work pretty great. The handy bone dispenser is great too.
I will have to say that I agree with the bags. We use the same ones. Mom got a sale on them this summer and I think we have 10 extra rolls in the closet….hmmm, maybe mom should take me on more outings!!! Shameful to have them sitting there and not being used! BOL!

Good review. Mom, cheapie, uses baggies

We like the Out bags too, and have come to the same conclusion that the longer more narrow bags work the best and give the most… protection. We also like a brand called PoopBags they are long and narrow and biodegradable… and they fit the bone dispenser!
My mom likes the LONGER ones too. She is a POOP Scoopin Fool and she likes what she likes. This was a very good Review Bailey girrrrrrl.
Sorry your mom had a poopsident.
We use the New Arm & Hammer scented poop bags. They are nice long bags, very wide and the scent helps Dad to stop gagging when he has to pick up poop. Mom doesn’t gag. The baggies are also bio-degradable which Mom really likes.
Good to know for the next time we go on a trip. When we’re home, Mom just uses a garden shovel and a {clearing throat} Wally World plastic bag.
A fun post and a good review that I wish I’d been able to benefit from when we lived in a subdivision. But I am doing a gift basket for someone who just got a puppy, and I think bags would be a nice little item to include! THANKS for the idea, and the review too! Enjoy your day!!
I know, who knew potty bags could have so many flaws! It’s good to see the bags open and on a human hand before purchasing!
