Attacking Bubba… (& Video)

…with love.

It was really nice the first day after Bubba came into our home. Taylor let Nala and me look at him while he was inside his cage, and I got really excited when I heard Bubba’s name…

My very first giveaway…

Come back tomorrow for another product review and my very first giveaway! There will be 3 winners — you won’t want to miss it! ๐Ÿ™‚

Scroll down to see a video of Bubba and me…

Just a couple of days after Bubba came to live with us, everyone went out for a few hours. Taylor had Bubba’s cage on the floor, and surrounded it with a colorful hamster fence, in case he happened to get out if she left his cage open.

Taylor made sure to close her bedroom door, as she always had, but somehow… some way… I got inside.

When everyone got home and Taylor went into her room, she noticed that Bubba’s cage was not where it was when she left earlier — it had been moved and pushed up against her desk. The fence was taken apart, and many pieces of the cage were scratched, broken, and removed. One part of the cage was open, and the inside plastic flooring had fallen in on one side.

Everyone is assuming that I had something to do with this. Isn’t there any other way that teeth marks, scratches, and broken plastic, could have gotten there? As you can probably imagine, I’m not allowed to see little Bubba up close anymore. As of the night this post was written (2-4-12), I wasn’t allowed in Taylor’s room. Even though Bubba’s way up high on a shelf now, I think it’ll take a while until I’m allowed inside again. ๐Ÿ™

2-9-12 Update: I’m allowed in Taylor’s room now, but still not allowed to see Bubba up close. *sigh*

These pics were taken before “the attack.”

Attacking Bubba
This was the second night Bubba was in our home.
Taylor got a little round ball for him to roll around in.

Attacking Bubba
He didn’t like the ball as much as I enjoyed watching him.

Attacking Bubba
You could see some of the colorful metal
fencing that surrounded Bubba’s second home.

Attacking Bubba
I gave Bubba a nudge, ’cause he didn’t
seem to know how to move in that thing!

These pics were taken after “the attack.”

Attacking Bubba
Mommy says that the third time’s the charm. This is the
most houses any hamster has probably ever had in just 2 days!
The house in the center is the one I broke. *sigh*

Attacking Bubba
This is Bubba’s third and final home.
(Nope! Bubba has a fourth house!)

Attacking Bubba
Taylor and mommy say he likes this one the best.

Attacking Bubba
He looks happy, doesn’t he?

Attacking Bubba
This is my view of Bubba now. I can still kinda see
him, but it’s not the same as when he was on the ground.

Video of Bubba and me! (There’s no sound.) Bubba gets close to me around the 1:40 mark, and I get close to him around 2:00!

Maybe one day soon I’ll be able to look at Bubba up close in his new home. I should be able to, right? If it wasn’t for me, he’d still be stuck in his second home and not enjoying it as much. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Don’t forget to come back tomorrow to enter the giveaway!

Bubba does kind of look like a ball…we can understand the confusion.

What fun are furry friends if you can’t play with them? But you ARE LOTS bigger, Bailey…and he does look easily breakable. Maybe Taylor has the right idea.

  3. I guess not all balls are ours to play with. What a bummer!!

I’m glad Bubba’s safe, but that’s too bad you can’t see him up close anymore. You have to remember that you’re stronger than you think! ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. I was wondering too where Bubba was during the home invasion. So happy to hear that Bubba was kept safe. Poor Bailey, just trying to keep the peace, right?

  7. Frankie Furter and Ernie says:

Ummmmmm Bailey Girrrrrrl… I’m thinkin that you are gonna have to show some restraint where Bubba is concerned. I’m just sayin.

  8. The OP Pack says:

We don’t think a hamster in our home would work out very well.

Bailey, where was Bubba while some intruder was destroying his home?

Bubba was hiding inside underneath his flooring, which was about 2 1/2″ above the bottom of his house. Thank goodness he found a corner to hide in, ’cause that flooring had collapsed in the attack!

  9. So hap-pee to hear dat you didn’t make a snack out of Bubba when you broke his house. You two can become great furends!

  10. Goose says:

Oh Bailey, that’s to bad you have to watch Bubba from the flooor when he is up so high. I’m sure you did not have anything to do with the broken stuff. If anything you were protecting Bubba from a robber. That’s what I think.
    Blessings,
    Goose

  11. Bassetmomma says:

Oh poor Bubba! You must have scared him something awful even though you just wanted to play! Thankfully he is up in a safe spot now. I guess you’ll just have to look from a distance Bailey.

How cool is that! You got a new buddy!!! In time we are sure that you will just be the best of friends!! xoxo Chloe and LadyBug
