Review: Blue Life Protection Formula Dog Food

Mommy, daddy, and Taylor attended a Pet Expo last month, and they brought home some free doggie food! I’ve already done a review of Blue Mini Bars Natural Dog Treats, and today I’m going to review Blue Dog Food. ๐Ÿ™‚

Look below for the Good Stuff vs. the Not-So-Good Stuff…

The doggie food I’m reviewing today, is called, BlueTM Life Protection Formula Dog Food, Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe for Adult Doggies. Mommy has never bought the Blue brand before, but she’s heard a lot about it.

Today’s review is brought to you by Bailey’s legs.
Teehee!

Review: Blue Dog Food
We couldn’t wait to try this Blue doggie food! We loved the
Blue Mini Bars Natural Dog Treats so much — we were sure
we were going to love their doggie food, too!

Review: Blue Dog Food
Since we’re not switching from our regular doggie food,
mommy sprinkled the Blue food on top of our dinners.

Review: Blue Dog Food
Nala loved the small, bite-sized pieces, and she was
able to chew them with her almost 14-year-old teeth. ๐Ÿ™‚

Review: Blue Dog Food
Mommy then sprinkled some Blue food on my dinner.

Review: Blue Dog Food
I too enjoyed chewing this doggie food. I prefer smaller
pieces, and the size of this food was just right. I also
liked the flavor! How can you go wrong with chicken & brown rice?

Ingredients…

Deboned Chicken, Chicken Meal, Whole Ground Brown Rice, Whole Ground Barley, Oatmeal, Chicken Fat (preserved with Mixed Tocopherols), Rye, Tomato Pomace (source of Lycopene), Natural Chicken Flavor, Whole Potatoes, Peas, Whole Carrots, Whole Sweet Potatoes, Blueberries, Cranberries, Flaxseed (source of Omega 3 and 6 Fatty Acids), Barley Grass, Dried Parsley, Garlic, Alfalfa Meal, Dried Kelp, Yucca Schidigera Extract, L-Carnitine, L-Lysine, Glucosamine Hydrochloride, Turmeric, Sunflower Oil (source of Omega 6 Fatty Acids), Fish Oil (source of Omega 3 Fatty Acids), Dried Chicory Root, Oil of Rosemary, Beta Carotene, Vitamin A Supplement, Thiamine Mononitrate (Vitamin B1), Riboflavin (Vitamin B2), Niacin (Vitamin B3), d-Calcium Pantothenate (Vitamin B5), Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6), Biotin (Vitamin B7), Folic Acid (Vitamin B9), Vitamin B12 Supplement, Calcium Ascorbate (source of Vitamin C), Vitamin D3 Supplement, Vitamin E Supplement, Iron Amino Acid Chelate, Zinc Amino Acid Chelate, Manganese Amino Acid Chelate, Copper Amino Acid Chelate, Choline Chloride, Sodium Selenite, Calcium Iodate, Salt, Caramel, Potassium Chloride, Dried Yeast (source of Saccharomyces cerevisiae), Dried Lactobacillus acidophilus fermentation product, Dried Bacillus subtilis fermentation product, and Dried Enterococcus faecium fermentation product.

The Good Stuff:

  • We love the taste!
  • The pieces are bite-sized, and easy enough for older doggies to chew, even almost 13-year-old Nala.
  • There are whole grains like brown rice, barley and oats, which provide complex carbohydrates that us doggies need for energy!
  • It doesn’t have a strong smell.
  • They’re made in the USA.
  • Whole carrots, sweet potatoes and peas are three of the “nutrient-rich vegetables” that are part of the ingredients.
  • Includes lotsa vitamins, proteins, amino acids, and other stuffs that are good for doggies.

The Not-So-Good Stuff:

  • The only bad thing about this doggie food, is that it’s on the pricey side.
  • Keep in mind that this food did not make up a major part of our diet — our review is based on the food being used as a supplement only. This may or may not have affected our review if the food was more a part of our diet.

My conclusion?

Nala and I really enjoyed this Blue doggie food. If we had the chance to eat it again, we definitely would. ๐Ÿ™‚

My mommy received these treats for free at a Pet Expo, and I decided to do an honest review. My puppy opinions are my own.
