Review: Dog Tag Art, Round 2/GIVEAWAY

Last year, in May, 2011, I reviewed a really cool product called ‘Dog Tag Art’. It’s back again, and this time I’ve personalized my own tag!

~~ SEE BELOW FOR GIVEAWAY! ~~

The Dog Tag Art peeps loved how dirty I got while doing last year’s review, so they came back to me for more! Teehee! Nope! This time I’m stayin’ clean! Before I share my new design, I wanna tell you a little bit about the Dog Tag Art tags…

This company is awesome! They have so many tags to choose from, and there’s no limit to what you can design. If you can draw it, photograph it, or finger paint it, you could wear it on your tag. They have lots of categories to choose from, and if you can’t decide on an existing design, you can always design your own!

Last year I fell in love with one of the already designed tags. This year, I chose to design my own. I used one of my hu-sister’s photographs, with her permission, of course. πŸ™‚ Taylor has lots of beautiful photos, so it was hard to choose just one. But I did!

From DogTagArt.com:

Our large tags are 1&#188 inches (3.18 cm) in diameter, which is about the size of a U.S. Half Dollar coin. The small tags are 7/8 inches (2.2 cm), which is about the size of a U.S. Nickel coin. Both are about 1mm thick. Each tag comes with a sturdy steel split keyring for attachment. Dog Tag Art tags are made from an ultra-strong recycled steel core about 1mm thick. The steel is coated with an everlasting special polymer which allows us to infuse graphics and text using a special process. The final result is a pleasure to hold with smooth rounded edges and a porcelain look and feel. They are manufactured and made in the U.S. We guarantee the tag text will never become unreadable. If, for some crazy reason it does, we’ll replace it for free.”

You can’t beat that guarantee, can you? πŸ˜‰

There are more than 1000 designs to choose from, but you won’t be able to guess which one I chose this time…

Look below for the Good Stuff vs. the Not-So-Good Stuff…

Review: Dog Tag Art, Round 2
This was my very first Dog Tag Art tag. I’m a digger,
and this tag helped me tell the world about it. See how
well it’s stood up over 1&#189 years? It still looks good.

Review: Dog Tag Art, Round 2
Even though the back of my tag is a little dirty,
it’s still legible. And that’s most important.

Review: Dog Tag Art, Round 2
I wanted to design my own tag this time, but
it was so hard to choose what photo to use.

Review: Dog Tag Art, Round 2
I finally decided to use one of Taylor’s
beautiful photographs of a hibiscus (periwinkle) flower.

Review: Dog Tag Art, Round 2
When I received my tag, I couldn’t believe how wonderful
it looked! The image was so clear and shiny, and it looked
just like the photograph I provided. What do you think?

Review: Dog Tag Art, Round 2
Here’s a close-up shot of my new tag. Isn’t it pretty?

Review: Dog Tag Art, Round 2
I think it came out great! Here’s another view.

Review: Dog Tag Art, Round 2
This time, my tag came with a silencer. It wasn’t easy to
put it around my tag (hey, I’m all paws), and I really didn’t
like how it looked after it was on… Way too much of the image
was covered. Maybe they should think about providing CLEAR silencers?

Review: Dog Tag Art, Round 2
I’m sure the silencer works — it just takes away from
the art on the tag. I didn’t want to hide Taylor’s flower.

Review: Dog Tag Art, Round 2
This time I filled in 3 lines on the back (instead of 2).
You can never have too many phone numbers! πŸ™‚

Review: Dog Tag Art, Round 2
Oh yeah… another tag! Woohooo!

Review: Dog Tag Art, Round 2
And here’s me wearing my new tag. I haven’t taken any of
my old tags off — I like to wear them all at once! Teehee!

The Good Stuff: You might see a lot of the same good stuff as in my last review… that’s a good thing, don’t ya think?

  • The tags are manufactured and made in the U.S.
  • The tags are guaranteed to never wear out or become unreadable. If they ever do, the company will replace them for free.
  • Tags are good for both doggies and kitties. Our humans can even wear them if they want to! Or, be creative and use them as accessories: hang them on your backpack, your purse, a key chain, and even as a necklace! The possibilities are endless. Why not order two of the same — one for you and one for your furry one? Or hang them up and use them as a decoration. Hey, they’re art, right? πŸ˜‰
  • There are many categories to look at, with some really nice designs. Anyone can create a tag and make it available for anyone to purchase. Users are constantly creating new tag art, so you’ll never run out of designs. There are thousands of custom tags to choose from. Then there are artists who have created their own tag art, so if you find a style you like, there’s bound to be more from that artist.
  • Key rings are included.
  • The tags can work with their Virtual Leash, in which you will be able to maintain a unique website (or online profile) for your pet. You could have unlimited emergency contacts that can be instantly notified if your pet goes missing. When your pet is found, the website can send everyone messages via email, Twitter, text message and voicemail.
  • If you’re creative, you can create a tag design of your own and become one of their artists. If your design is chosen to be featured on DogTagArt.com, they’ll pay you a $1 royalty for each one of your tags that sells.
  • Custom designs are really easy to create. I should know — I created my very first one, then I went on to create a few more! Try it — you’ll be hooked and want to get tags for everyone!

The Not-So-Good Stuff:

Hmmm… there isn’t really anything bad I can list under here, but I’ll try.

  • If you like to use silencers on your tags, you may have a hard time putting it on.
  • Nala’s STILL jealous that she doesn’t have one.

My conclusion?

I LOVE my new tag from Dog Tag Art! These tags are fun, creative, and they look great. And this one is truly special to me, ’cause it’s a one-of-a-kind tag… that is, unless they change their minds and approve my design for everyone to buy. I’ve already submitted a few designs to their Dog Tag Art program, but I have not heard anything back. I guess that means they don’t think my designs would sell. That’s crazy though… Who wouldn’t want to wear a dog tag made by me or my hu-sister? πŸ˜‰

Visit Dog Tag Art — you’re sure to find your next tag there (and maybe by then you could choose one of mine!). πŸ™‚
