Nala’s Dentist Update…
Mommy knew it wouldn’t be a perfect — she has not been brushing her teeth since her last dental check-up, and she knew her teeth were bad. Since Nala had some teeth removed a year ago, food has been getting caught in the back and on the sides. Mommy tried to keep up with her teeth, but Nala was not a big fan of the toothbrush. Nala had some enamel staining, hyperplasia, gingivitis, a pocket & a small growth on her gums… oh, the list goes on. But — the good news is, that mommy has been brushing Nala’s AND my teeth, since her check-up on 7-5-13. She even cleans out the food after our breakfast, and sprays some liquid on it afterward. She uses a vanilla/mint doggie toothpaste, which doesn’t taste that bad, but I do prefer the poultry flavor. 😉 Mommy says that my teeth, that weren’t that bad before, are getting cleaner every day. Maybe she can keep my teeth clean enough, so they don’t get bad. I’ll keep my paws crossed that Nala’s next dentist appointment goes OK in 6 months… and that my teeth are perfect! Mommy wants me to remind all you doggies to tell your family to brush your teeth! You can prevent a lot of damage and pain… and no one wants that, right? <3

Sorry poor Nala had a not so great check-up but mommy seems to be doing all good stuff to improve things. We learned at the Health Fair that it is important to practice good dental hygiene because there is a connection between plaque buildup and heart disease in dogs.
You look very comfy!! It is TOO HOT to do much else! Glad the teeth visit came out ok!

Zzzzzzz…. We’re getting tired just looking at all of you sleeping over there! We think it’s great that you got a picture of Bubba sound asleep.

Glad that the teefs were not so bad. We like CHICKEN Flavored teefs paste best, also.
