A new year…
Update from JM…

Wow, I can’t believe it’s almost 3 months since I last posted here. So much has been going on…I just could not keep up with everything here.
Bailey is doing well health wise these days. I am keeping an eye on her weight, since being on Purina OM Weight Management during 2013-2014, she lost 25lbs. At the end of last year, I switched her off their veterinary diet and put her onto their regular weight management food, which has chicken as the first ingredient (not corn). I wanted to get her off the OM diet because she was pooping so much and chicken was not the main ingredient. Since being off the OM food, she has gone back to pooping about 2x/day, and not a huge pile of it. I suppose her body was happier about that as well.
Unfortunately, Bailey has gained about 2 lbs in a few weeks. I’ve also been taking her on 2 mile walks every day since the beginning of the year. Could the weight gain be from muscle gain? I’m not sure, but I’m definitely keeping an eye on that since I don’t want her hip dysplasia to become an issue again.
Jax was 1 year old this past November, and he’s still acting like a crazy puppy. His hind legs still need to build muscle, since the last surgery (FHO) and subsequent 3-week bed rest he was put on depleted him of that. He is still unstable at times, and we need to monitor their play together to make sure that Bailey doesn’t hurt him accidentally. He still bunny hops, and manages to get around just fine. He seems to know his limitations and doesn’t do things he knows he cannot do. It’s a shame that his life is limited, but since this is all he knows, he’s used to it and he doesn’t appear to let that stop him from doing anything.
JoJo, our black bear hamster, is about a year and a half now, and still doesn’t come out much during the day. She has grown so large that we needed to buy a chinchilla size wheel for her. It’s a good thing we have a huge house for her — she definitely needs the room.

I’ve been creating speed painting videos for each of my paintings, which I love. The recipient also seems to like seeing how their work was created, so I will probably continue those. π
