Yesterday mommy, MT and me started putting together her new chest of drawers. Unfortunately, we ran into some trouble and we weren’t able to complete it as planned.
As soon as mommy discovered that the wooden dowels weren’t fitting all the way into the side of the dresser, we had to stop everything that we were doing. I told mommy she needed to call daddy, which she did. He’s good for solving building problems. π
Daddy came home and looked at what we had done so far.

It looked like he was going to sit there forever!

I asked daddy if he thought he could fix the problem.

Of course daddy could fix it! He took a small saw,
and cut all the tips of the wooden dowels off.

Mommy wanted Nala and I to stay away from the work area,
so she gave each of us cream cheese in our Kongs! Yum!

I love cream cheese!

After daddy cut off the tops of the dowels to make them
fit into the holes, he glued the tips and attached the second side.
Then he put clamps across to hold the two sides together.

After my delicious cream cheese, mommy attached me to
my leash near the table. It’s hard for me to stay out of the way…
I want to be the center of attention, ALL the time!
So I ended up taking a nice nap!

While the glue was drying, daddy told mommy she and MT
could continue working on the back. They had to attach
two pieces together with a plastic thingie.

Oh no! the back boards aren’t staying up! Watch out MT!
The sound of the boards hitting MT woke me up from my nap.

I told mommy to use tape to help MT hold the back boards together,
until she could hammer the nails around them.

After she was done hammering, I inspected her work.
You did it, mommy!

Finally! The back is done!
We let the rest of the frame set overnight until today, and hoped that when the clamps came off, it would be perfect!
Today, mommy took off the clamps, and saw that everything was dry and tightly put together. Yay!
I walked with mommy as she brought each of the drawers in, and placed them in the dresser frame. Once she attached the drawers and put on the plastic feet, everything was done!

Finally! The back is done!
But there was one more thing I needed to do…

OK… I’m claiming this draw for my toys, my bones, my car keys…
Haha… I’m being silly. I don’t even have my license… yet. π
And that’s how you build a chest of drawers. π
Lotsa woofs & hugs,
~Bailey

The drawer is very nice! Good job on inspecting their work. MMM cream cheese in kongs sounds delish.
Thanks Amber-Mae! π
Way to go, Bailey. I like to help Mommy work too!!! I especially love it when she works in the Kitchen.
Puppy Kisses,
Tanner
Isn’t great to be a helper, Tanner? π
Yay, it’s done Bailey – Dad’s sure can be handy, looks like your Mum did a great job, great idea for you to help by eating cream cheese, that would have been my option too if I was there……
Have a fun day,
Your pal Snoopy π
I did have a great time helping, Snoopy! And the cream cheese did help ME a great deal too! π
Aww poor thing! Too bad you couldn’t be in on ALL the building action. At least that cream cheese softened the blow.
I wish I could have cream cheese ALL the time!
hey Bailey,
Pawsome job! You are a great snoopervisor and really helped your humans accomplish their task at hand. The dresser looks great, and I bet MT will get many years use out of it.
A cream cheese kong sounds so yummy! Lucky pup! :->
Suka
