Today was nice… know why? Daddy stayed home in the morning! It was nice having him around for a while, until he left for work. There’s so much that needs to be done around here.
Before I forget… I wanted to let you know that I added 21 pictures in April’s gallery! I hope you have time to look. π
Getting back to my day… it seems that once we get something done, there’s always something else on the list. Why is that? Why can’t we finish something, and not have anything else to do? We could relax and play all day long! I guess it would get pretty boring, huh?
Daddy has been working on the upper part of our deck in the backyard. He’s putting on all new wood, but he’s not quite done yet.

He’s almost finished redoing the steps.
I can’t wait until he finishes… I’ve never been on the top part of the deck. I wonder how things would look from way up there? I bet I could look over the big fence and see all the houses around us. Maybe I could finally get a look at the mystery dog. π
Later in the day I asked Nala if she wanted to go outside with me. It was hot out today, but there was a slight wind… and in the shade it wasn’t too hot. We walked toward the door, but before we went outside, I had to check on something.

I looked outside to see if it was safe.

I didn’t want anything to hurt Nala.
Know why I didn’t let Nala run right out? ‘Cause just yesterday she was attacked by a huge, doggie-eating snake! OK, so she wasn’t really attacked… it just crawled under her. And it wasn’t huge, and it probably wasn’t doggie-eating, but it was BIG! Well, I didn’t see it… MT did. But she said that Nala jumped really high when the snake crawled under her while she was out in the yard. So I wanted to be sure the snake wasn’t around.

This is where the snake crawled after it went past Nala.
It’s probably living underneath our deck! How scary!
After I made sure that it was safe, I told Nala to join me for a walk outside.

We had a nice walk, but I kept
watching for that pesky snake!

After our walk, we relaxed on the patio.
I won’t lie… I can’t wait for that snake to show up again. I want a chance to chase it! I know one of these days it’s gonna show itself.
Oh! This reminds me… Last week I found something moving in the grass. You’ll never guess what it was! You’ll have to wait to see the video, but I’ll give you a hint… it wasn’t a lizard!
Have a wonderful day!
Lotsa woofs & hugs,
~Bailey

You’re so considerate to keep an eye out for Nala! That’s what sissyhood is all about π
What kind of snake was it? Our here are pretty poisonous – so we are always on the lookout for snakes.
Sam
My non-furry sister said it looked like a garden snake — we have quite a few of those, though not as large as this one was.
You really are a great sister π

Thanks AJ! I’m not much into new tricks these days, but I’ll talk to my family and see if they can get something together. π

hey Bailey,
What a great bro-fur you are to be so concerned about Nala! Snakes can be fun! I have had a few in my yard. I just bark and bark at them and they just coil up and don’t move until I go away. Sometimes I try to pick then up with my mouth, but they don’t like that at all. I guess they don’t like playing with pups!
Your new deck looks very nice. I bet it will be great sitting up there! And I am very curious to learn all about Mystery Dog!
Suka
Sukaaaaa! Teehee! I’m a girl. π
I’m pretty sure that snakes don’t like doggies though… at least that’s what my mommy tells me. Maybe she says that so that I’ll leave them alone. Hmmm…
I can’t wait until the deck is done…because attached to that is the BIG pool! Look out baby turtle pool — I’ll be moving up someday!
Woofs & hugs,
~Bailey
