There comes a time in a long-haired doggie’s life, where we have to just grin and bear it.
Mommy spotted a little matted ball of fur behind my ears,
and decided she would try and brush it out. It turned
out to be a bit more challenging than she thought. Heh.
I don’t like being brushed… especially behind my ears.
I wiggled all over, and when I was down… mommy brushed my belly!
Then she brushed my tail!
Nala sat on the couch and laughed the whole time.
Finally, I let mommy brush me a little bit. The mention of
cookies might have had something to do with it.
But I still didn’t like it.
Daddy had to help hold me. I wasn’t cooperating very well.
After mommy was done brushing me, she gave us cookies!!
That was definitely the best part.
I didn’t even mind Nala jumping on me. π

Ugh! I hate being brushed and so does Felix. We have new brushes called ShedMonsters that we really like. It feels like a massage! I’ll let Mama brush me for hours with one of those!
Wait until your coat gets like mine and my Mom actually brushes me daily!!!! I don’t know how it is that I am not bald !!!

I don’t know how those mats get there so quickly–But you are in good company of those who don’t like to be brushed or get those darn mats out, but it’s so worth it in the end, and I get a cookie too!! π

Arrgh, ear mats! A dematting comb is a pretty cool little thing to have–makes those bad boys way easier to get through. Good job with the brush and snacks!

Elka still gets brushed, but has very short hair, so I use a boar bristle brush; I think it’s probably a bit more like a scratchy massage for her!
Okay, admit it Bailey, it all feels much better now, doesn’t it?
Cookies……did someone mention cookies!!! Me want to be brushed if me gets cookies! If not, jus’ da cookies would be just fine!

I have to be good for 1-2 hours every week to get my coat groomed! Like you say, the cookie is the BEST bit! π
My Mum uses a special ‘V’ shaped comb for my matts, but still those bits are more least favourite -doh!! The non-matt getting out bit I love and would be happy for Mum to do that all day! Tee Hee

I am not big on being brushed either. Unless Mommy has a handful of those yummy little peanut butter flavored treats that I love. She holds the brush in one hand and feeds me treats with the other hand. That is how I get brushed.

I’m havin’ lots of trouble loadin’ your blog from reader…somedays it never loads and others I give up two or three times before it finally, eventually comes up after I go away and do something like take a nap.
I LOVE gettin’ brushed. It scratches all the itchy spots and massages muscles. I have an undercoat like you, so I need to get all that extra hair out and it beats scratchin’ it out!
Shedding season I get brushed EVERY day.

Bailey, you’re a silly one BOL! I luv to be brushed. Course with my short hair, I don’t have any tangles so it’s just pure pleasure except when it tickles and makes my skin ripple…weird feeling that! Great laugh Nala! π
