3 Missing Doggies & Couple of Contests

I love my family and cannot imagine losing them. But sometimes things happen, and doggies do lose their people. It’s then that we count on the kindness of others to help spread the word.

I’m sure there are many missing doggies, but I can only highlight so many at a time. I’ve added a 3rd (found on 6-28-11)…I had to just help get the story shared. I’ve also added a new page to my site: MISSING PETS (it’s under Fuzzy Stuffz in the column to the right).

The first missing doggie recently experienced a tornado. Tornadoes are terrible things! They cause destruction, and many times loss of life and missing family & friends. But there are other living things that sometimes go missing, like family pets.

One such pet is a doggie named, Hanah. She’s a 5-year-old, 110 lb, spayed female, white American Bulldog who was ripped from her mommy’s arms during the Joplin tornado last month. Her family knows that she survived, but they don’t know where she is.

Please take a look at the poster below and share the link to her Facebook page. Everyone’s hoping that word will get out and someone, somewhere, will see Hanah or know where she is.

Hanah's Missing & Couple of Contests

You can contact Kari Wilkes of Hanah’s family via email, or by calling: 812-327-5876 or 417-529-8088.

Hanah has 2 different eye colors (blue right eye and a hazelish brown left eye), and she may have red rash on right underbelly.

From Hanah’s family: “Hanah has been seen 2 times since the tornado hit. Once on E 26th street in Duquene. Hanah lived on 27th st. before the tornado. There is no house there anymore but we think that’s why she may be hanging around that neighborhood. She is a large solid white American Bulldog. Please, if you see her call Kari @ 1-417-529-8088 to report the sighting. DO NOT TRY TO APPROACH HER. CAll us and we will get someone there ASAP.”

I’ve learned how powerful the doggie blogging world is — won’t you please spread the word about Hanah, and help bring this fur baby home to the family that loves her?

A second missing doggie whose name is Midnight, pulled out of his collar and jumped the fence at his foster home in Apple Valley, CA. The people who care about him are so sad!! Please look at Midnight’s photo below, and share it with as many people as you can.

From Black Dog Rescue’s (BDR) Facebook page: “Midnight is such a good boy, a truly gentle dog. We love him so much. PLEASE, share his photo with anyone you know in the Apple Valley, CA area. BDR is offering a $250 reward for the safe return of Midnight. Middy is about 2 years old, 65lbs, black with tuxedo “shirt” white fur on his chest and white “socks” with black spots on his feet. He was last seen near Iroquois Road in Apple Valley, CA. We love you, Middy. Please come home. Anyone with information can email or call 617-899-2772.”

Thank you friends, for helping to spread the word about Midnight! I’m sure he really misses them!

This last doggie’s name is Sugar. Sugar is a cocker spaniel and was wearing a neon green collar when she and her doggie daddy experienced the Joplin tornado. Sadly, her daddy didn’t make it. They lived at 26th and Adele. According to Sugar’s Facebook page, they have not yet located her, but her family isn’t giving up hope.

If you could please share Sugar’s story, maybe we can help get the word out about her. If you have any information, please visit Sugar’s Facebook page.

The next contest…

If you’ve been following me for the past 6 months, you’d know how I feel about the majority of kitties (if you don’t, you can do a search on my site to find posts on Bully Cats). 😉 Oh there are some kitties I like, like kitties who are family and kitties who I’ve made friends with. Then there are the 2-dimensional kitties…

I’m talking about Simon’s Cat! If you haven’t heard of Simon’s Cat, you should check out this website. There’s a new book out, and other stuff too. But what I love to watch, are the short films! Simon’s Cat makes me laugh… and I LOVE to laugh at silly kitties!

The Simon’s Cat website holds a Photo Competition each month, and one is going on right now. This month’s competition is to celebrate the US launch of their book, ‘Simon’s Cat: Beyond the Fence.’

You can read more about the competition, including prizes, and read the rules. Then submit your winning photo!

What are you waiting for? Send your photo in today! Teehee! I did!

Here’s my photo below, with NO photo editing!

For the word verification below: If you are on a computer (desktop or laptop), all you have to do is drag the image that it tells you to, from the left to the right image. If you are using anything other than a computer (like an iPad, iPhone, or other mobile device), you just need to click on the correct matching image on the left (it will tell you). The image will then automatically appear over the image on the right. Don’t forget I have to personally approve your comment, so it won’t show up right away. 🙂
