My Infatuation (& Video)

Is there something in your life, that can get your attention in a split second? Something so unbelievably wonderful and addicting, to the point where it’s become an obsession? I have that certain something.

It’s called a flashlight.

Yep. A simple flashlight. It doesn’t matter if it’s big or small, or yellow or blue (it happens that mine is yellow). If I can see the flashlight, its got my attention. Serious attention.

I love chasing lights… I just can’t help myself. I love it so much, that I can literally spin myself silly! The only thing is, the light has to be on the floor, not on the walls or the ceiling. I need to be able to reach it. πŸ˜‰

My Infatuation
I’ll do anything you want — just say the word & hold the flashlight.

My Infatuation
Come on, shine the light!

My Infatuation
I command you to move!

My Infatuation
I’ve got this under control.
Light-shining party’s moving to the living room.

Bailey vs the Flashlight Silly alert: Spots on my back starting at the 1:42 mark.

Oh yeah… try to ignore the obnoxious cackling in the background. My family always gets a little silly watching me chase the light.

My Infatuation
See? I told you. My attention? It follows the light.

My friend Kim from Life at Golden Pines reminded me that my daddy used to use a laser, and I went crazy with that little red light… until the battery died. That’s when they started to use the flashlight. I wonder if my daddy ever gets a new battery, if I’ll enjoy that little red light more than the flashlight..? Hmmmm.

So there you have it — my mommy’s trick for getting me to do stuff (well, that’s if she’s not using food). I remember when mommy was teaching me to come… there were a few times (OK many times), where I wouldn’t come back inside the house after running out in the backyard. Mommy would take the flashlight out, and shine it onto the grass. I would see it and follow the light right into the house.

I gotta say… that was pretty smart. Maybe that was the beginning of my infatuation…

Happy Monday, friends! Big woofs & hugs!

~Bailey (Yep, I’m a girl)

  1. Hey Bailey,

Nope, I don’t know why they’re laughing at you either, that puzzled look on your face with your ears on top of your head is so cute!

Glad to see you’re having fun buddy,

    Your pal Snoopy πŸ™‚

  2. You are too cute with that light! Kolchak is a big fan of a laser pointer. He goes cuckoo-bananas over it.

  3. Love the video!!! That is funny! Looks like fun! Lots of love, Debbie & Holly

Sounds like mommy needs to do a comparison test: flashlight vs. laser! Bailey we just love your enthusiasm when it comes to “grabbing” the light spot…imagine the fun with a klieg light!

    • bailey says:

Haha… I had no idea what a klieg light was, and neither did mommy! She had to go look it up. I think I’d have an AWESOME time with that light! πŸ™‚

  5. My predacessor also loved lights. It got so bad that my family could not use flashlights when they went camping. They had to use lanterns. That is why they have not used a laser pointer to train me! But I am glad it works for you!!! Great to have a good tool. I prefer treats!

    Tanner

Silly Bailey! I worry too much about using lights to play with my girls – dogs can be dangerously addicted to them. Lola loves her boomer ball though!

    • bailey says:

OOOH! Don’t start me with a laser! I LOVE them (until the battery ran out on my daddy’s laser — that’s when they started to use the flashlight). πŸ˜‰
