Review: Newman’s Own Organics Canned Dog Foods

Today I’m so excited to share with you three really tasty canned doggie foods! A week ago, I received a goodie box filled with yummy foods from Newman’s Own Organics.

Look below for the Good Stuff vs. the Not-So-Good Stuff…

The flavors Nala and I are reviewing today are 1. Turkey & Brown Rice, 2. Turkey & Chicken, and 3. Chicken & Brown Rice. Since we ate these foods in addition to our daily dinners, we included all three flavors in this one review (one flavor each night).

Newman’s Own^&#174 Organics Formula for Dogs

We tried the turkey & brown rice the first night.

We don’t often get canned foods, so we were really excited!

Newman’s Own Organics — we could taste it already.

If she just put the can down — I would have no problem
eating it straight from the can. This is deliciousss!

But no… we had to wait for mommy to scoop a little
up and put them into our bowls. She put some into Nala’s bowl…

And mashed it up with our kibble.

Then she put some into my bowl.

Oh yeah… there was food left on the spoon! Score!

No fair — Nala jumped up and started licking it before me.

I finished licking the spoon, while Nala licked up what fell on the floor.

Nala is usually so picky with her food, but she didn’t
spend any time picking anything out of her bowl this time!

I ate up all my food all at one time. This was too good to leave!

Wowserz, that was soooo good!

*Cough* My bowl’s empty. Got anymore?

Turkey & Brown Rice flavor was also delicious!

And don’t start me on the chicken & brown rice flavor…
Nala and I have agreed we have a three-way yummy tie!

Turkey & Brown Rice Ingredients…

Organic Chicken, Sufficient Water For Processing, Ocean Whitefish, Organic Brown Rice, Carrots, Oat Bran, Flaxseed, Dried Kelp, Guar Gum, Carrageenan, Sea Salt, Minerals (Iron Amino Acid Chelate, Zinc Amino Acid Chelate, Cobalt Amino Acid Chelate, Copper Amino Acid Chelate, Manganese Amino Acid Chelate, Sodium Selenite, Potassium Iodide), Vitamins (Vitamin E, A, B12, D3 Supplements, Thiamine Mononitrate, Biotin, Riboflavin Supplement), Potassium Chloride.

The Good Stuff:

• The cans have an easy-to-open pull-tab lid – great for doggies who don’t have any patience!
• The food looks and smells so good — Nala & I would have eaten it right out of the can! As a matter of fact, when mommy was putting our bowls down for us to eat, I snuck back and started licking the can that was left on the floor. Hey, half of the food was still in there, and it tasted just as good IN the can!
• All 3 flavors tasted delicious! I think I preferred the turkey & chicken flavor the most though.
• It’s at least 95% organic — it’s healthy for you! And it’s made with whole grains, fruits and veggies.
• Each can contains human grade natural chicken (no hormones, antibiotics, pesticides) as the main source of protein. Natural chicken is high grade protein and contains no by-products.
• There are no chemical additives, preservatives, coloring agents, dyes or by products.
• Newman’s Own Organics uses antioxidant rich vegetables, which are low in simple sugars and high in naturally occurring vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. All these things help keep us doggies healthy!
• The cans are fun to roll around on the floor! Paw hockey, anyone? Teehee!

The Not-So-Good Stuff:

• Nope! Nothing to see here, friends. Move along! 😉

My conclusion?

Nala and I both LOVE the Newman’s Own^&#174 Organics Formula for Dogs. We’re not going to be switching over completely to canned foods though, ’cause mommy prefers that we have crunchy kibble as our main diet. Nala tends to have a sensitive stomach, and the moist foods also gets stuck in her teeth more. But she will definitely be treating us to some added moist foods occasionally, ’cause we love it so much. I’m sure she will buy Newman’s Own Organics since it’s a name she can trust. We think these canned foods taste delicious, and we’re happy we were able to try them. Thank you for sending these to us, Newman’s Own Organics!
