Happy almost Wordless Wednesday, friends! Enjoy your day! <3
Nala…
Nala’s getting up there in years… she’ll be 14 in just 3 months. So far, she hasn’t really had any major health issues, except for an eye problem… which surgery corrected last year.
The other day, Nala was sleeping on the floor near mommy’s desk, and Taylor went up to her and pet her. Nala didn’t respond. Taylor looked at Nala and then immediately called for mommy. Of course I came running. Mommy was nearby and looked closely at Nala… she remembered that the same thing happened to her a few weeks ago, while Nala was sleeping in the bedroom. Mommy went up to Nala and called her name. She didn’t move. Taylor started to get upset, when all of a sudden, Nala opened her eyes a little. “She was just sleeping,” mommy said. I went up to Nala and sniffed her face. π
I guess Nala’s become a heavy sleeper these days. But I worry. When that day finally comes, how will I live without my Nala? *Sigh*
Now for Wordless Wednesday: Couple of Heads…

Nala is probably just enjoying the sound sleep that comes with being a bit hard of hearing; both Nuka and Oso sleep like that! Bailey, don’t start worrying about Nala’s time, none of us ever knows when our time will come. That is why it is so important to be together, love each other, and share the now because EVERY moment is precious.
aaahhh, what a sweet and sad story

Woofs to Nala and all ur critter and hoomin friends! ((Woof woof woof)))
We have the same thing here with Phantom. He will be 14 in November. Part of it is hearing loss and part of it is old age, or as the vet says doggy dementia. We all have the same worry, Bailey. We all love our boy Phantom so much too. Now why don’t you go give Nala a big kiss and we will do the same here.
Woos, the OP Pack
What a sweet girl… and it made me tear up to read how much you all love her! xx

hey Bailey,
Your post made me sad. It is so hard to think about death and losing one we love. I am furry happy Nala is o.k. and was just sleeping soundly. She must have been having a really great dream and did not want to get up. :->
Just enjoy every moment you have with Nala right now, so that when the time comes, you will have a zillion wonderful memories to keep Nala alive for you. But don’t worry, 14 is not that old for smaller breeds so paws crossed you have Nala around for many years to come.
Suka
I’ve done that to my MOM. But I tell ya what live for now not what will be in the future.
Blessings,
Goose
Beautiful photos and beautiful drawing. Such beauty and talent all in one family.
I think that’s a sad and scary question Bailey. I ask myself that about my guys all time. I would say just try and enjoy the time you have with sweet Nala. Those memories will help you through. π
Oh, I know, I worry about that now and my baby is only 2! I wish I could sleep that soundly too!
Sam has started doing that too. Sweet Nala!
Sam
Don’t worry, Nala. Sometimes Mom picks me up and moves me when I’s sleepin’ and I don’t even nose it!
Awwwe! Maybe Nala is getting hard of hearing? Try not to worry Bailey, just enjoy the times you have with sweet Nala. π Happy Wordless Wednesday! π
Sweet sweet Nala! Must be nice to sleep soundly! Mommy says maybe she is having trouble hearing!
We love you Nala!
Doggy kisses
