Monday Moment: Ouchie

Us doggies should live carefree lives. Except when we’re worrying about one thing…

And that’s getting stepped on or kicked by our human family!

Now, my furry sister Nala has lived a long life. She’s 14, so she knows how to dodge human feet. She’s had her share of getting stepped on, so whenever one of our humans comes within 5 feet of her, she’s already reacted and moved out of the way. They all laugh when she does that, even I do. She’s much smaller than me, but I’m beginning to think she has a point.

A couple of weeks ago, one of my humans (I won’t say which one, ’cause they would be upset that I told), was walking with a plate, and didn’t see me. They kicked me right in the snout with their bare foot! Everyone said it sounded like glass breaking, but it was actually my nose that got hurt.

You would think that my humans would see an 80-lb doggie lying on the floor, all the time. NOPE!

Monday Moment: Ouchie
It looked worse than it really was.
I didn’t even cry.
By the way… does my nose look big?

My mommy called my doctor and emailed photos, just to get their opinion on whether she should bring me in. She knows that she doesn’t have to bring me to the doctor for every little boo boo, but it was nice to get the confirmation that they felt it wasn’t necessary for me to see the doctor.

Monday Moment: Ouchie
Later that day we all went outside and I
played in the water (see my 4-24-13 post for pics).

Monday Moment: Ouchie
This is how my boo boo looked the day.
I think it looked better already, don’t you?

Monday Moment: Ouchie
And it looked even better last week. 🙂
Mommy says it will probably fade a lot.

Does my boo boo ruin my pretty face?

Our poor friend! Your human must have felt awful! The photo looks like the accident really hurt! We are glad you are healing well and it is not a continuing problem but we, too, think you might get a scar. Don’t worry, though, nothing can mar your beauty.

P.S. Nala is a very smart White Dog!

Oh my dog! You poor dear! Our dogs are always underfoot. At fifty pounds, we shouldn’t be stepping on them, but they stop right behind me as I’m turning around! Or lay under my feet when I’m not looking!

O no paw you! I am pleased to hear it looks worse than it was – I think it may scar!

Hi! Bailey, long time since we’ve visited. Things have been going at a fast past in our lives. We were off blogging for awhile. We missed you! So sorry about your nose but it’s still as beautiful as ever! Our person usually goes for the paws! Ouch! Not intentional, of course!

My MOM has only tripped over me. I have not yet been kicked in the snooter. But yours looks like it has healed nicely.
    Blessings,
    Goose

Oh nose Bailey! Not the foot in the nose accident. We’re so sorry that happened to you. We too find it amazing that they didn’t see you laying there. We sometimes have that very same problem. Except with us, we’re tiny little things and it’s understandable. Sometimes Muffin gets right under someone’s foot and BAM! She squeels like a pig what that happens.

At least you didn’t have to see the Vet and all is going to heal nicely.

    Hugs,
    Lily Belle
