We’re back for another round of Jax’s Fundraiser! This time, we’ve got reward levels & 5 drawings to enter.

Update Tuesday 6-23-15, 15 days post-op: Today Jax saw his surgeon for a follow-up. The x-rays showed that his bones are healing very nicely! The surgeon still wants Jax walking with support, and does not want him running or jumping yet. His stitches were removed on the underside of his hips, and the Dr told us that he wants him off all meds (he wasn’t really taking much anyway). Jax needs to build up muscle in his hips since he has NONE, so he had us make an appointment with a local DVM for rehab. Jax has an appointment next week on June 30, in our home. The Dr also suggested swimming in a pool for Jax, since it would increase his strength. This was a good visit. I’m starting to believe he will one day walk, run and play again. 🙂 Our fundraiser goal has increased slightly due to Jax’s rehab appointment. I have adjusted the total to include this visit.
FUNdraiser, Round 2…
10-6-15, 78 days post-op his second surgery (FHO): Jax is gradually developing muscle on both of his hips, which will in turn form a false hip joint. We just saw his surgeon earlier today, and he said that he still has muscle atrophy, but that this should change in time. We should continue exercises at least 3x/week, and make sure he gets plenty of exercise.
We are so thankful — from the people who donated (we wouldn’t have been able to even think about surgery (his DPO in June), to the skilled surgeon who was so kind to see us so often just to ease our minds… and to all of our friends and family who have been there supporting us along the way. We thank you so very much for helping to give this little boy his life back. He is just beginning. The hardest part is over. It’ll take months for him to build the muscle he needs. The surgeon believes that by early next year he will be so much better. We still have the fundraiser up — we have a final bill that will be due mid-December.
Our new bill total (which we will need to pay off in full this September, 2015), is now $1200. I have changed the fundraiser total since we have already made a few payments since his second surgery in July.
Since our goal was not met, I have terminated the drawing and rewards.
6-26-15: Today, a second round of Jax’s Fundraiser has begun! This time around, we’re offering a few rewards for various donation amounts. Please remember that no amount is too small. ALL will be appreciated. There is still a substantial amount that we have left to pay of Jax’s medical costs. Please consider a small donation, or share his fundraiser link if you cannot donate at this time.
IMPORTANT! As you’re submitting your payment, you do not need to display your name, but we do need your email address in order to contact you. If we do not have your email address, we will not be able to confirm with you whether you would like your name included in our ‘thank you’ post, and we will not be able to contact you to confirm your address, if you have won one of the rewards. Please keep in mind that all email addresses will be kept private. Deadline: This drawing will remain active until we reach our goal. After that time, we will post here and on Jax’s fundraiser page, that this drawing has ended. We will still accept donations after that time via YouCaring.com. Please allow at least one to two weeks for us to contact you via email for your mailing address (if required), and for our ‘thank you’ posts to be added online. If your email address that you submit to us is invalid, we cannot contact you and therefore not send your reward. Please allow at least one month after drawing ends to receive your reward.
To enter one or more of the 5 drawings: Placing a donation via http://www.youcaring.com/jax automatically enters ALL of Jax’s supporters, past and present, into one (1) of the corresponding drawings (unless you contact us and tell us you’d prefer not to enter). Though the goal of this fundraiser is to raise the balance of Jax’s medical costs, no donations are required to enter any of the drawings. Don’t forget to read the fine print at the end!
All supporters/donators will receive something from each reward level. Beginning with a donation of $15, all supporters/donators will receive a handmade & signed, 2″x6-3/4″ abstract watercolor bookmark, each one an original, by JM of DrawingMom.com (see below). We want to show the world how much you care about Jax! Reward Level: “Paw” Donation Amount: $15+ Reward: Supporters at this reward level will be sent one (1) handmade & signed, 2″x6-3/4″ abstract watercolor bookmark, each one original. In addition, each person who donates at this reward level will receive a handwritten letter thanking you for your kindness, which will include a ‘thank you’ paw print from Jax! Each bookmark will be personally created by JM of DrawingMom.com. Colorful and unique, each bookmark can be used as such, or placed on a shelf as original abstract art, like a mini-painting. There are 5 reward levels that have drawings. There will be one (1) winner for each of those reward level drawings (rewards are listed as such).

I heard from many of you that my feed has not been showing up in your readers for quite some time. I am so sorry! Feedburner said my RSS Feed got too big, and it stopped sending it out. :/ So I deleted it and it’s now located here. The problem I have, is that everyone who had previously subscribed, is no longer subscribed. 🙁 I have your emails, and plan on sending out one general message asking everyone to change the URL of the feed so you could continue receiving it in your reader (nope, haven’t done this yet). You can always visit my page and click on the RSS link in the sidebar. I hope this will solve the problem, so you can be notified of new posts. Please do let me know if this solves the problem! 🙂
